Gentlemen, If I may be allowed to add my two kopeks to this discussion. I do not believe this photo is original to the document in question for several reasons: - the ink stamp is quite crude, especially the Soviet crest, but also the letetrs (visible on a more detailed section of the stamp); - this ink color was not available in the SU in the 1960s, but you can find an ink pad with color like this in any Staples - the signature is not original either, because the style is just over the top for 1967. I might also add that the photo itself is apparently printed on glossy paper, which was not usually used for documents, but this is circumstancial evidence. Mondvor, nice research!!! Alexei

Gentlemen, I wouldn't say that an old photograph in the document is weird. Tthey often used whatever photos were available - old, new, or none. I am guessing that since he was an ex-Tzarist officer he was most likely an instructor at the Vistrel Courses. Gentlemen, I am the person selling this medal and document, so let me try to answer some of your questions. As with any T2 RKKA medal there is absolutely no guarantee that this medal indeed goes with this particular document. The person's name is Colonel Ushinsky, Boris Nikolaevitch. The stamp is from "Vistrel" Courses. Indeed he never made a General, apparently because he was an ex-Czarist officer. During the WII he commanded the 265th Infantry Division for a brief period (looks like one day only) in June 1942, and again in 1942-1944.
