    1. Is there not a roll floating around with foreign medals to Germans?
    2. The "slain by Nazis" sounds interesting.... it may just be overly emotional for KIA... but it could be that he was executed or shot after surrendering or something? The wording is very unusual....

    10. I was lucky enough to pick up a "Kriegsgeschichte des Brandenburgischen Jäger-Bataillons Nr. 3 (Jäger-Sturm-Bataillon Nr. 3)" last week... WOW... what a nice book... What a pity S.B. Rohr did not have such a nice history!!

    12. Original Post erased by mistake... Height 304, and the bordering Forest of Malancourt and Avocourt have always been one of the sectors at Verdeun that fascinate me.... So I could not pass this group up.... I am going to complete the frame with a 11th DIV badge, the picture is one of Bavarians attacking in the forest of Avocourt when our guy was there winning his medal....
    13. I just picked up this plate... I must admit it is a first!! A plate instead of a bear mug! Can anyone help with the name? I thought Rengenfelder, but that does not seen to exist.... He entered the war with the 6th bavarian Reserve regt and was wounded in October 1914, never made it back to the front...
