Hi, postage from Germany is 37 EUR!

In Zöberleins book he mentions being promised the EK, but then not getting it because some NCOs who were in the field for longer needed it, and were first priority. I did a stat from a pile of books and the average soldier needed 21 months in the field to get one. Best Chris

Thats a nice one, wounded in one day by artillery geschoss AND an infantry geschoss ? Hows that for luck!! and at Verdun!!! On TOP of that, they were fighting right on Fort Douaumont when he was wounded...

What a potentially interesting but totally frustrating document!! Basically it says "he participated in all the battles of the 1st Landwehr Company of the 7th Pionier Battalion....." but I am bggered if I can find any list of their battels, or where they were attached!

The stamp seems funny.... and last week a collector described basically the same item to me over the phone...but stamped 1918 and with smooth buttons.... For some reason I think a small stock of jackets from XXX have appeared and will be on sale...
