    11. Even if you dont collect documents, ebay number 111167994487 is a steal for 10 EUR and should be on every bookshelf.....

Hi, 2 possibilities.... 1) Between 1918 and the time the Nazis took power there was little need for awards... then everyone was falling over themselves to join the SA, NSKK, or some other uniformed assoc. and medals became more interesting... Or 2) He had bought one, but figured he was owed one by the state....
    13. I assume in 1934 Germans were getting back into uniform, ironing their quickly bought Brown Shirts.... and he seems to have applied for the EK1 they did not have for him in 1918... It is a very unusual document....
    14. This is really interesting..... A doc from 1918 saying "he should get an EK1... but we dont have anymore...."

    16. I will check when I get home. I only have one other at that leve, the 5th Company of the bavarian Leib Regiment, has been of great help to me. So far I have no docs from the I.R. 192....
    17. Our drill instructors used to point things out, punctuated with slaps or an "Atomic Clack!"... usually worked... :-)
    18. This is a nice one... lots of Verdun... lots of detail... now I just need an EK doc to the company :-)
