    1. OK, my bad, not most of them have it, but 18 badges are to be seen, of course, some guys you don't see the left sleeve.
    2. Nice, nice... and where is it today????? Any idea where a simple Feldspange can be found?
    3. Can anyone post a pic of a bar with the EK2 and Saxe-Meinigen War Merit Cross ? Thanks Chris
    4. Check out my baby... http://gmic.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=16667
    5. I have scanned many docs, never had a problem. Scanner light is harmless to the docs. Best Chris
    6. For ages I have thought of these as MGSSA badges, but I just recieved a photo of a regular infantry regt MGK and they all have it (or most of them) Can it be that it is a graduation badge from the MG school and not for folks attached to a MGSSA ?
    7. On the site there will be three levels of battle information. this should help document collectors/researchers to place their guy on the field of battle. In the "Whats new" section there have been some updates. Brief overviews of the Years are given. coming are brief overviews of the battles within those years (Verdun is up already) Then in connection with the EK docs, events within those battles. See below and let me know what you think... http://www.trenchfighter.com/44901/home.html
    8. Hi, its a subject I know little about, that is why I ask. All the best Chris
    9. That is very interesting... are you sure it is French? I thought they just put stars on the ribbon for further awards, but have never seen a bar!!
    10. Yup, check out the link at the top. Rick and Glenn gave me a load of info. All the best Chris
    11. Well... The good doctor has moved to Bavaria... :-) Thanks Paul. Does anyone know if there are any more photos of the man out there? its a looooong shot... but who knows... I intend to start researching him soon.
    12. Finally, after ages of looking I have landed my WW1 tunic. Not an issue one, which is a pity, but therefore an identifiable one, and 1a mint... which I did not think existed for WW1 jackets. It has maybe 2% wear to it. The name is not that readable, but it has been identified here.... http://gmic.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=16591
    13. Hi, what would the most typical officers belt have been in the field? An enlisted mans? a Private purchase? Any ideas? Thanks Chris
    14. Hi, Jack just happened to have the Info, he is a writer on western front battles. Wrote a classic book on the german troops on the Somme. Any guess what he probably had on his ribbon bar in 1917? Looks like 3-4 ribbons. I am really excited to get his jacket!!!
    15. I would guess it does, I wonder if there is a roll out there?
    16. What makes this one overly sexy is that the guy on the doc was actually in Brandis Unit in WW1 as a senior NCO and awarded the EK1. Enjoy this rare treat :-)
    17. I wanted to give in a max bid of EUR25 on a letter on ebay... made an error and gave in EUR250 :-((((( I got it for EUR55. Strange thing is, I got 5-6 separate letters to the officer from Generals for EUR2-3 a piece. What is so special about Major Barensfeld of (Bayr.Res.-Fu?artillerie-Reg.Nr.1) that makes some eeeeeejit knowingly bid EUR55 on it??? Is it worth my EUR55 or should I cry? Thanks Chris
