This is an interesting set, stamped for the 11th Jäger Battalion, which fits right in with the Kassel Maker.... What is interesting is the Green leather work....

Some time ago I bought a small group (EK2, Tapferkeit, Ehrenkreuz) not mounted... unfortunately winner not known... For some reason I think this tapferkeit is nicer than many I have had in the past.... is it some kind of early one?

Indeed... I think the rank with function and the battalion reference make this a bit more complicated than a faker would bother to do... -
Forgot I had this group to an NCO in the 36th Füsiliers... in the 2nd photo he is the one to the right of the EK2

Looking through old engraved threads... this popped up.... I like the engraving, especially because the Adj. and the Battalion mention to be very convincing... -

It seems this document is a color copy of an original.... would love to have an original... apparently a number of these in circulation....

Hi, I tried Eitel, but it is Ertel... The bMVK was awarded to him in March 1916, he was wounded at Douaumont/Fleury on the 23.6.1916, and got the EK2 in March 1917. After his wound he never made it back to the front. Nice Photo... I am a happy lad :-)

Bingo, 29. Bayerisches Infanterie-Regiment (Jäger-Regiment) Funny to see the Bavarian buttoned tunic with Prussian cockade! I also for some reason thought the Jäger Battalions would have kept their numbers.... The pic was a bit of an eye opener for me....
