Here is a Bekanntmachung from the Military Governer, signed for him ba Pelkmann, basically saying, all signs and company correspondance must be in German, all french must dissapear and if this is not done people may be taken to court and shops not following the orders in time will be forbidden to soldiers....

Hi, the 1st and 2nd class Bewährungsabzeichen... I assume just which ones they were depended on which Freikorps they were attached to... -
Hi, understood, but do you think it included approving or making the award? It seems to be a grey area between making the award, and handing it out..... no "in the name of the Kaiser, I award you..." The "Im Auftrag" and Überreiche makes it seem as if they were handing out the award ON BEHALF of the kaiser. I think it is a strange formulierung....

Wow... that must be unique.... commanding the regt throughout the whole war!! I bet the number of regiments where that happed is pretty minimal... -
Hi, concerning the change from panzer Abwehr to Panzer Jäger, it is worth including that part of the reason of the name change was the offensive capabilities that were given with the introduction of the Jagdpanzer models. This gave them the ability to bring the fight to the enemy as opposed to passivley waiting for the enemy to come to them, as in the earlier Abwehr days...

Normally a certificate given out at Armee/Division level has on it that the award has been made on behalf of the kaiser, and the word Verliehen is used.... in this one it says handed out, ... is it just unfortunate formulation? Am I reading it wrong?

Hi, I guess that is possible... I thought it may be for anything brought about by war service ie. frostbite or disease etc.

Just won an item I think is cool.... The down side... under threats of death, a week ago I promised the wife not to spend ANY money on militaria this month, having done big financial damage last month .... I forgot I had 3 Auctions saved in my Auction sniper ... :-(
