    1. Hi, it was with the group, but he lived on way after the war it seems so i am guessing it was a Leibertreff badge... I still do not believe these are wartime.
    2. Hi, I must admit, to my shame, that it was a really big action for the Leibregiment. I had totally overlooked this battle of the Leibregiment. The guy in Question was in the 3rd company, totally destroyed in the fight, only 6 survivors who were captured.
    3. Nice, do any have details about the men on the back?
    4. Hi, thanks guys... sounds correct. He was captured at the same time. best Chris
    5. A difficult call..... I would say, at the end of the day there needs to be balance.... if we insist they dont have any errors, then the movie may become too expensive to make.... so as long as I see they have made an effort, and the stuff is "OK" at a glance with no howling errors... I am happy. Some guys get overly nerdy "Did you see that??? Movie takes place in 1940... those chest eagles were only worn on the M44 jacket!!!"
    6. A wild guess, but I assume it is the Miniature of an industrial / commercial Bavarian award.
    7. Hi, I have one of those, I think from 1917. Usually the certificate was the award, I think the Plakette was seperate. Here is a bit of Info on Patrol certificates... http://www.kaiserscross.com/40029/40802.html
    8. Hi, I am having a bit of problem with this. Something with Artillery, but I cannot figure out the key word...... at the same time he was captured....
    9. Hi, thanks, I really hoped I would be outbid, the wife would then not have wanted to kill me.... but I am glad to have landed it in the end......
    10. Wow!!! The officer who signed your Grandfathers pass in the 12th Company was the guy who wore my ring!!!!!! And one of the highest decorated Germans ever.... but a real bastard.
    11. Its been an expensive month indeed.... a Nice group of a guy who served from October 14 until his would in September 16.... he has 3 Militärpass and a Üeberweisungsnationale... all issued in 1919 and 1920!!!
    12. I heard some of these are German made, most Austrian made.... but what is the big difference.... I do see very different faces between the 1st and 2nd badge?
    13. OK, Here it is..... I must admit, I was lazy and did not check my books.... The Seller said it was Leib Regiment and the Monogram DOES look like ILR.... and the Bavarian normal ones just have L....... but this is a pre 1914 normal Bavarian one, the Monogram is not ILR but PRL .... whoever the wearer was, he treasured it enough to have a special frame made for it.....
    14. Hi, A Bing in rather bad condition, I would say maybe EUR10-20?
    15. Hi, it asks if and from who a travel document has been issued, answered in Vienna by the police. Best Chris
    16. ... will be coming this week again..... objectively she would be safe if dropped into a prison yard of guys who had not seen a woman in 20 years..... but if she brings my toy this week... I will kiss her.... but just on the cheek......
    17. I really love these and have finally traded for one..... It is a design that should really have continued... cheap and cheerful... an "Avenger of 1870" knife.....
    18. Hi, The Richard Schwarz with the ring was in the ILR from August 1914... so the 10th Reserve Division with v. Rösch can not be correct... added to that, the Ausmarch photo is totally wrong for a guy who had been fighting from August 1914. I think his name was simply added to the album. Check out the difference between his name in the album and the other writing in white.
    19. Hi, according to the Wikipedia page the Version 2 of the medal contained the copper from the tank.... https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Southern_Africa_Medal
    20. Yeah, but I bet slipping on your ass happened a few times a day when the ground was wet!!!
    21. Hi, if you check out this page, there are some fantastic writeups about the KAR by Harry... http://kaiserscross.com/188001/home.html
    22. Indeed... that confuses things even more!!! Do you collect tinnies? Best Chris
    23. I was pretty excited to see a Leiberring on Ebay again. I must say... I do not need another one. I have one of each and don't want to run after another. added to that, I think the price is double what it should be for an "other ranks" one.... There was indeed a Richard Schwarz who got one.... but here are some issues I have with the group.... - I cannot be sure, but it looks a tiny bit thicker than those I have seen to date... but that may just be the photo - It is a bit strange that it is not numbered? I cannot say 100% that some unnumbered ones were not issued, but it does worry me a little - The photo album really worries me.... it looks like the name "Richard Schwarz" was added... the white writing with his name seems different to the other entries. Added to that is the Ausmarch Photo from mid 1915.... the Leib Regiment Richard Schwarz had his Ausmarch in August 1914... and the Divisionsstab Photo shows a Division that had nothing to do with the Leibregiment. Another point, this is his great grandfathers goodies that just happened to have been found in a drawer recently.... I would have little trouble believing that if the guy was not a buyer and seller of Militaria.... how many collectors do you know who do not know exactly where all the family militaria is. I may be wrong on all those points (although I doubt I am wrong with the album...)... but even if I really needed one I would be unsure of this... http://www.ebay.de/itm/Leiberring-Konigreich-Bayern-1914-1918-Infanterie-Leibregiment-Fotoalbum-usw-/272826375193?hash=item3f85b81c19:g:Vg8AAOSwEFNZppXv
    24. They have had 100 years to make their way around the world... I bought a British 14-18 war medal to a Belgian agent in a souk in Morocco and a North Korean award in Kuwait..... ;-)
    25. Probably awarded to a Foreign soldier. French soldiers who recieved them had no name on the rim.
