    1. I am going to go out on a limb and say I think the ones shown by Chip and Moi (Posts 65 + 67) are maybe wartime ones. They seem to be made of material of lesser quality than the ones we see on prewar photos. The one I posted belonged to a man who joined the 73rd Füsilier in late 1917. Any thoughts?
    2. Hi Patric, der Opa meiner Frau war Arzt im Stadisches Krankenhaus Offenbach in der 30er Jahre, ich glaube ich habe noch Photos wenn von interesse?
    3. Yes indeed, but what i meant is, from the way it is made it looks very similar to the Leib Regt one, which makes me think the Leib regt is postwar.
    4. Hi, the Problem is, DRGM is basically just a copyright.... I think we will never know who made the box.... Nice box though!
    5. I am guessing (for the French) that the CdG would have to accompany the LdH for the simple reason that the first step after the act of bravery is to cite the soldier for his bravery. That would mean the soldier had the CdG right off the bat. Without a citation for Bravery no LdH and the citation would have meant an automatic CdG ? All the best Chris
    6. Hi, going through this guys photos I think I can find him on the following... on the group photos marked in green.... any thoughts? Thanks Chris
    7. I bought the dagger some time ago, but was lucky this weekend to get a superb 1914 made frog and a used officers not. The Frog was pretty difficult to find in the combat knife size.
    8. Hi Jeff, thanks, the issue "Fuzzy Wuzzy" look. I had a good Jäger one in my hands ths weekend but had run out of money at the show. Luckily there are no Bavarian Jäger ones, that saves me a lot of money ;-)
    9. Hi, the rest of the stuff is just a regular prussian buckle and some buttons, I will get the photos scanned tomorrow, Best Chris
    10. Hi Picklehaube! I saw one of these in Ulm today, they feel pretty good in the hand. Unfortunately a specialist subject that I assume few people can provide information on :-(
    11. I had a lucky find today.... I assume he started out as an "other rank" as a regular dog tag and normal belt buckle is in the lot. Also a photo of him but without a name, then some group photos of the 3rd company.
    12. OK, here is an interesting one, it belonged to the man who had the Private purchase Leib Regt ring and the 1907 Verein badge.... see the difference to the usual ones.....
    13. Ahh... OK, that fits the description of my NCO one. I guess these are worth quite a bit less... what would a realistic trade value be on these? Best Chris
    14. Hi, this belonged to a 1914 Volunteer who became an NCO, then a Lt. d. Res. What kind of Schirmmütze is this? An NCO or an officer? Or both? Thanks Chris
    15. Hi, I may get them in trade... how do I recognise an issue one from a private one?
    16. Hi, can anyone tell me the difference (Other than the company coloors. I assume from Left to right, a WW2, then 4 WW1, some of the WW1 may be issue and some private purchase? Does anyone know their way arounf these? Thanks Chris
