    1. While helping clean out the bedroom of my wifes late Grandmother I found another piece to add to my items belonging to her Grandfather... his Kriegsmarine Watch. I removed the metal strap he had added after the war, but from what i see there is no real consesus as to what the original straps looked like, and all the examples I could find have replaces straps. I have no idea what the other watch is... it has absolutely no markings at all, but does have the kind of strap cheaper WW2 era watches had. I am thinking of removing it to complete the Marine watch but hesitate as it may be a !watch of interest".... does anyone know what it could be? From the quality I would have said from somewhere behind the Iron curtain... but the numbers and letters on the inside would not fit.... rest
    2. Hi, yup, I knew him for 3-4 years. When i get it finalised I will post close ups :-)
    3. Fantastic! Looks just right! Hold out for an original flag, they cannot be that hard to get. I really like the room!!!
    4. Thanks for the link, yup, with the box it would be even cooler ;-) This one used to belong to the History association in Krefeld.
    5. Nice pile of goodies! Can you post details of the boxes?
    6. To the above, a Baden heavy one with the (silbernes) Verdienstkreuz mit Schwerter The Small Baden Golden medal on war ribbon is pretty scarce as well.
    7. Hi, He was wounded in the fight with the Glowworm, and when they arrived in Narvik he went ashore. The Bernd von Arnim was scuttled later after further fighting... https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/German_destroyer_Z11_Bernd_von_Arnim
    8. Hi, not too rare, they had Kaiser parades and he did masses in one go. he must have handed out tens of thousands during the war. But it is nice to have one :-)
    9. Nice looking indeed!!! I will be knocking on your door soon!!
    10. As mentioned before, I have recently aquired 2 small rooms in the basement to display my stuff. With the exception of the wifes grandfather's Kriegsmarine stuff, it will be purely 14-18... first step was bars for the windows. 2nd step will be making it childproof from the inside.... slowly the first room begins to take shape....
    11. Have just built a little corner dedicated to the wifes grandfather.... behind his tunic is a norwegian backpack he seems to have "captured" in Narvik. He lost all his stuff when his Destroyer went down....
    12. So you think this one has a chance? The lower cockade is Bavarian. The only logical uniform I can see it with is the Litewka? http://gmic.co.uk/topic/68072-bavarian-knautsch-m%C3%BCtze/ This just "Fits"...
    13. Some more goodies from the group. The Landwehr Medal has been added to complete the bar.... More...
    14. I was glad to pic this up to add to my budding 2. Jäger collection :-) He has the "2" on the shoulder and Bavarian Tschako plate :-)
    15. Hi, this cap has me mystified. As you can see, it is a "Crusher" at the highest level, you could roll it into a ball. The bottom cockade is Bavarian, silver metal with the blue dor which has turned black over time. Am I right in guessing this was probably worn with the Bavarian Blue officers Litewka? It seems to be a very good fit.
