    1. Again, an alleged early example in the case of issue. My apologies for the poor photo quality
    2. Order "Felix Varela" Awarded to Cuban and foreign citizens as well as cultural collectives in three (3) classes. The award acknowledges outstanding achievements in favour of imperishable values of National and Universal Culture. It is Cuba's highest honour for cultural merit and was established in 1981, the first year it was awarded. Orden "Felix Varela" Se otorga a ciudadanos cubanos y extranjeros y a colectivos culturales, en reconocimiento a aportes extraordinarios realizados a favor de los valores imperecederos de la cultura nacional y universal.
    3. Case of issue, as found by my friend: (Note the lack of any title, maker mark, etc.)
    4. Very little known about this Order other than "Awarded for outstanding contributions to independence and peace in Cuba" A supposed earlier example based on the case of issue, but it is painted, not enamelled.
    5. Here's an example of the First Class Medal, lifted from eBay of all places. Note the color of the last stripe on the ribbon.
    6. My apologies for the quality of this photo, but here's an example of the Third Class in its' early case of issue:
    7. Here's a nice example of a Third Class Award. Very heavy, real enamels as opposed to the paint seen on some later examples.
    8. Order ?L?zaro Pe?a? Awarded to Cuban and foreign workers in Three (3) Classes, for extraordinary labour merits, important contributions made to the national economy or for correct and maintained positive attitude at work, in industry, agriculture, services, administration, construction, transport, sciences, arts, culture and technical.
    9. Welcome to The Cuban Militaria Forum! An area of militaria with some interest and almost no references, information, etc. I will try and collate and post threads and details as they come together. Please feel feel free to add your examples to the individual threads on each of the Orders, Decorations and Medals!
    10. Try a look at collectrussia.com under badges, best soldier type. Igor has an example posted with very large, clear photos that you could compare yours to.
    11. The unfortunate thing here is there's fewer than a dozen or so known of these. No clue as to maker yet, although I do have suspicions. Clearly condition and quality denote a period piece. Given the nature of the hand-finishing, probably in very small batches.
    12. i find this entire situation rather sad. I have not received any notice from eBay, but they don't have to actually do that. It is incumbent on the seller to know the law, or in some cases.... the eBay rules that supercede the law....
    13. Just a quick sidebar, can we please use the word "thread", instead of "threat".......... They are distinctly different things. Thanks!!
    14. Combined Arms Badge, Third Class. He states that the reverse is identical to the Second Class Badge
    15. I have a friend in Germany who has consented to me posting scans of all of his Cuban Awards. Credit, where credit is due. Enjoy! Please see the new individual threads for each piece and add your examples!
