    1. Nice to see all the bars Heiko! A good display. I agree, the 3 you mentioned are almost impossible to find anymore
    2. It's not that hard really, I just obsessively view every dealer in the world, constantly try to recruit pickers in Germany and surf every on-line auction house in the world!
    3. Received this in a lot from Germany. I suspect it is Romanian, but have no clue. It also bears a striking similarity to an Austrian style bar with the overlaps. Can you help ID this bar? Thanks!!
    4. I think this brings up an interesting and frustrating point.... sometimes, no matter how many sources, how much time is spent.... the best you can do is narrow it down to a list of suspects.....
    5. Last bar, "Waldeck"? A) OK, this one is very good.... but the combination of seller, again with the worn/not perfect backing and the stitching pattern all smell bad to me. I would not bet on this being authentic with anyone's money. You need to excersise supreme deference when shopping eBay. The place is riddled with fake bars, compromised bars and just out & out garbage. Both in the US and Europe. Be very, very careful what you are buying. These bars are popping up at all the shows, etc. and will be found being offered from many different sellers. Pay very close attention to the backings/stitching. If it looks like this, start asking serious questions.........
    6. Photo 4: Prussian (sic) bar: A) Red Eagle Peace-time/statute ribbon, with swords?? B) Non-Combattant War ribbon after nEK2, RAOw. Swords?? C) Split Red Cross Medals? D) Life-Savings in last place? E) Cross to the Allgemeine=Ehrenzeichen??
    7. Photo 3, W?rttemburg Bar: A) Wilhelm's Cross before a Friedrich's Order.... NEVER! B) Again, mint ribbons, but sloppy/worn backing C) Notice the sewing pattern is consistent on all these bars?
    8. Photo 2, The Romanian Bar: A) Again, 1930's style German mounting plate B) 4 Mint Romanian officer awards, but no German Awards? C) Mint ribbons, but worn/damaged backing
    9. Let's do this blow-by-blow, photo by photo. First picture, a Bavarian "Super-Hero Bar" This is a 1930's style ribbon bar mount. However, there's no Hindenburg Cross, so immediately we have to say pre-1934/35. OK, that's not bad so far... But! 1) The EK2 should be after all Bavarian awards 2) Hohenzollern Makes no sense 3) Ludwig Cross does not fit with combattant awards 4) Prince Ruprecht's Medal.... really??
    10. Did somebody say smoke? I love to smoke, it helps keep my blood-pressure in a youthful place. Notice the S--t-eating grin on the last picture posted by my (truly) Evil Twin? See how happy he is? Cubans baybe, pre-embargo Cubans.... they keep you happy! Nice stuff Mike, nice stuff Ralph!
    11. That's interesting...... I did not realize the bars were an after-thought. the Swords for this piece were very distinctive and different from the atypical Pre/Post 1918 era swords. Rather ugly, actually!
    12. Remember our old friend Baff002 from Christophe's dissapointing thread? Remember the types of backing and stitching? Remember the ribbons used? I present this week's fakes by this seller: Bad Bar #6. What is wrong with this picture?
    13. Oh yeah, the EK2 is in the original seller's wax bag..... been there long enough for the ribbon to "burn" an imprint into the bag itself!
    14. Naw, not the duck fellow, just constantly searching. The Brunswick bar is mine. 4th House Order RK2 I've ever owned. First one I've seen mounted. Even had one cased once..... I think this own shall be mine and I shall call it Henry. Little stuff will all eventually go up for grabs, including the SHM medal bar.
    15. Hi Gordon! A very pretty cross and looking so exemplery of the WW1 crosses made during the 3. Reich. Nice to find a (real) cased screw-back!
