    1. Allan has the Ldo box........Dave B you bugger LOL I wanted that hehehe There's one in Angolia's Political and Civil awards book, I'll get Allan to post a pick of his. Other variations really just include the outer covering differences, and style of maker labels inside the lid. The outer coverings, you can assimilate to other 'red' covered boxes with these minor difference's......it's nothing really to get overly excited about, but I'm trying to define as many of the coverings on boxes etc as I can for the book. There isn;t that many really, and it's just interesting to note differences. I must say despite the 'evil' swas on the Faithfull Service decorations, the 25 Year out of all three I think is a wonderful looking award.
    2. Thank you very much for bringing this up, I as a collector of cases and cased awards had never even realised or looked closely enough at these to realise the there was a difference in the cog motif !!! Thats another variation to add to these awards, the long red box with different motif, an Ldo sort for this award and a packet !! Excellent, thank you Rosenberg for bringing this up !! Kr Marcus
    3. I have the same problems with this Jucker Darrel, under a scanner it looks terrible, it's not really really shown in it's true full glory in this wishy washy picture either. It seems to be the norm on a whole for these Juncker Aux to have lost most of their finish as such, mines saving grace is that the globe is still nice and silver with dull untouched tarnish over it. The swas and leading edge of the eagles wings nicely polished still. A really beautiful design this badge in all events. Kr Marcus
    4. Hi Hendrik, I was thinking in British mode instead of criteria of other countries, we only got the UN or IFOR/SFOR NATO medal with Former Yugoslavia bar for Bosnia. TSG, stands for Tomislavgrad which was the then HQ for BELU forces, with contingents in Banluka the British MND-SW HQ. I think this was the first tour Belgian and Luxembourg forces had done in the Balkans as this type of element, before that of course they were in BELUGA; Belgian, Luxembourg, Greek and Austrian Theatre of Transportation Group and this encompassed their main role at the time. The Belgian Froces at TSG I think where the Ardenne Light Infantry part of the 7th Mechanised Brigade........if I remember correctly. Kr Marcus These are mine, numerals for subsequent tours can be added, but I personaly didn't.
    5. Quote: In Belgium, as mentionned above, you have to buy your own medal when you earn one. Surely not the case today though ? I served with BELU Forces in Bosnia, they formed part of our defence at Lipa (they were at TSG) and they were issued their medals before their departure home ? So in Belgium all official medals earn't for durations of peace keeping, or wars/conflicts like Korea, WW2, WW1 and other, the soldiers had to buy their own campaign, victory & service medals etc. What exactly is the criteria for awarding of medals, or is there some where I could find further information about this please ? Kr Marcus
    6. Arh just saw this, I'll get back to this with some theory and thought on these packets of issue and the box idea's. And some pictures of course.
