      Yes, the ban only applies to the military. I think for home defense a frangible round is best as you don't want rounds going thru walls and into other rooms. I will say that that watermelon did not deserve to die that way.

      Hi Mervyn, I did a google search on coronation badges after I got this one. You are absolutely correct that there are dozens of designs. I like the detail in the design and it is made of aluminum. The other thing that struck me is when you have a change of leadership like this there is usually a lot of hope and optimism. It is hard to imagine that catastrophe was right around the corner.

      That is the Albrechtkreuz with swords. The enameled ones are Knights Crosses (1st or 2d class).

      Given England's far flung empire it was imperative that she maintained an ability to keep the shipping lanes open. Germany had no such need. The build up of the German Navy was a vain attempt by Willy to mimic Britain. He looked for a fight where one needn't have been.
