    1. The picture of the cart is incredible, never seen it. Wow! Here are my boxes some others I have are postwar painted urgh! Can you Gents translate the crate labels? I'd appreciate it. Best Regards Eric
    2. Mark Can't wait to see your new gun! I love working on mine here is one of my rebuilt schloss o8 next to a 1910 I converted you do need workshop facilities though, takes patience particularly when grinding the lock trunnion for head spacing. They are other ways of doing this including using m10 barrel plates etc but I didn't want to sacrifice original German parts and be able to swap my locks quick. The other image shows the unmodified lock. Regards Eric
    3. As a sorry here's is a neck-scarf I've only had two of these in 30yrs Its a bit er rough though but got that smell we know so well. Cheers Eric
    4. Ah Chip Finally dug it out unfortunately its for a soldbuch think?, sorry mate. Eric
    5. Here are my only two offerings even though I have the Meinlschmidt book tags and boards remain my achilles heel to decipher. A Herbert Henne Eric
    6. The recent copies sold as such I believe is a fresh run of a reproduction going back at least 25yrs ago to my knowledge. Pictures of an old copy to be fair being offered as they are very good for events of course sorry I don't have pictures of the spool. Best Eric
    7. Very nice Chris Here is a nice drum I just missed out on darn it! I don't have a 15 now but it would have been a nice start.
    8. Hi Marcin Yea I may have been a bit thin on that one I've one I added to my collection for just over four I'll post it here in fact its one of my favourites that includes my camo's. I guess the message is if something gets in your heart just buy it. Best Eric
    9. I rarely buy form a dealer today unless they have something out the ordinary you could 30yrs years ago because most were TR and didn't know what they had,,, now they know! hah! Best are still auctions but one has to be patient good plain M16 helms with liners go for about $350 a really nice M18 with complete chinstrap can fetch $1200 the cutout if nice well be prepared to sweat. Camo shells go from $300-500 unless its again not the usual regulation, untouched complete with liner examples range from $600-1200+ I know its a big gap but there's various factors involved helmets remain very popular you have to take into account collector emotion etc also I'm also talking of auctions with very nervous bidding fingers, hoping the wife is busy and one of the first items for a new collector. The 'splosh' and other 'field' patterns are very popular today didn't used to be but collectors have so much more knowledge now. Cutout camo well $2500-5000+ sorry. US collectors seem to love mail home helms but I don't know for some reason they don't hit with me but still like to see them on Forums. M16 chinstraps sorry again most have been 'stolen' by the haube boys for their pickels, originals $150-200 Chris, pack of three cushions $80-100 but there is a ton of fakes out there stripped from fake liners that no longer cut the mustard. Final note on dealers about '95 they seem to try and push up the price of plain but then again camo seemed reasonable to me the collectors then went dizzy and the dealer guys caught on. Regards Eric
    10. Original front jacket armour plate and disc flash hider with the scarce chained wooden water orifice plug these little puppies are usually missing ( I use this gun at events so I leave this at home!) and the latest addition a round water can, my other can was the one pictured in Dolf's first book. Regards Eric
    11. The rear showing the round retrieving tongs and the angle arbor for cleaning the chamber and pushing out the spent case that remains in the ejection tube in their clips. The spare locks (note the two broken shell extractors clipped in the lids) spare barrel, grip screw in oil brushes and I'm lucky this sled has the original leather knee pads etc.
    12. Gents Where is the left lower sleeve embroidered crown on this tunic (March 1917 distinction) if indeed its a 5th Rohr? Regarding the sewn in or not it would appear to me Junior NCO and up are usually sewn lower ranks tacked but this isn't always the case for enlisted men my 1915 19th Bavarian EM was tacked with slip-on covers yet other unaltered EM tunics have s both particularly with transitional I've also seen M07 tunics with early boards attached where the outer shoulder has been sewn down with original thread. Agree 100% Chip is The Master Eric
    13. The early round water can for my MG a present to myself. Chip I have a Salzbeutel dated 1914 JR92 I'll take photo's when I'm on my feet again I'm hobbling around on one foot at the moment. Merry Christmas to all Eric
    14. Wonderful Jim the gun appears to be a Bern Arsenal made MG11 as you say displayed with the Swiss optic. The weapon is mounted on a commercial DWM tripod unfortunately for us its displayed the wrong way round would be nice to see the fusee spring cover, go back and tell the person to turn it about its difficult through a glared plate glass window Lol! Swiss Maxims are gob drool for us mg nutters the most beautiful ever made. Regards Eric
    15. Ah I know I find it here Chris Thank you for showing I adore the drag strap also, MG crews had quite a similar one with an adjustable buckle that differed from the sled/gun harness it was used to help in pulling the two wheeled cart. Regards Eric
    16. Hi Chris Maybe the haube is a studio prop sometimes they'd have things like an obsolete 88 rifle laying about. My wild imagination tells me he was wearing his mutz and someone ran up and plonked the pickel on his head at a funky angle! Eric
    17. Hello Robin Its the teeth why should a cloth badge have better gums than me. Seriously have you compared the thread under magnification? The backing looks like correct period tunic lining material to me. Now be gentle remember you indoctrinated me into the Totty Club before you left what a wonderful thread Gents. Regards Eric
    18. I've never seen a picture of an early MG gunner wearing a S98aA S in the field is there any it would seem to be completely impractical. Eric
    19. Hello Malcolm first mentioned to me the possibility of a book in the 90's it was one of the reasons he wouldn't sell me some uniforms he had in his shop basement, what a sight two/three long rows of fieldgrey on hangers and boxes full of head and field accoutrements. I didn't want to be greedy just wanted the most beautiful 07 issue Garde Infantry tunic I'll ever see and a couple of m15's. He brought me down a cup of tea, I didn't want to leave the place was like Aladdin's cave, a fair number were private purchase if I remember correctly. Wasn't some of the gear from Petersen? maybe not. Regards Eric
