Nice one,probably a fiber helmet.. Eagle is the early pre-war one which is rather simple design,I prefer the 2nd pattern eagles, nevertheless a nice perfect piece of headgear. Jos.

I've a somewhat bigger version of the Rudel pic and if you zoom in on that you'll see that Rudel's shoulderboards are kinda pale pink color instead of golden yellow,this and some other things in the pic makes me think the picture has been colored in. The (orginal) Adler pic shows some much more blackened eagles than the pic here. As for the IMME white eagles I do believe that this type of nickle badges never had any black/blue finnish. I like them,the nickle is very tough/hard,that's why we probably hardly find them "worn with tombak shining through"...,kinda heavy duty badge.. Jos.

The flagpole is in the small pocket under the flarestrap,aluminum item,but still a bit "heavy" as we can see.. Jos.

I've added some new items to my fighterpilot lately,the yellow armband,a telescopic "Winkfahne/flagpole,a one man life-boat,which is in the original bag on his knee and yellowish survival cap,all survival items....just another few more things to go.. The flagpole plus flag was kept in the small leg pocket of the flightpants,when completely pulled out it looks like in the pic,it's kind of a signal flag,you can wave with it,but I've seen pics where it was used as a "sail" in the one-man life boat...,they're,let's say ultra rare.. These are indeed hard to find.. When you see Erich Hartmann you see him bare headed or with his visor. I've checked my files and only found 2 pics of him wearing his fightercap.. Not much,but proof enough that he wore one now and then.. Jos.
