The MVO is a Hemmerle, but I cant see if it is a golden or a silver guilt medaillon. So I need the backside of this award. I think the MVK is from another relative. What is written at ancestry about the Landwehr-Leutnant?

Very nice. This is a late production of Hemmerle (1918) with silver guilt medaillon. I have never seen blue paper. Normally this cross was in a red paperbox. The first class was awarded to the rank Feldwebel-Leutnant.

Hello, I think he was a reactivated Feldwebel-Leutnant. A Vizefeldwebel would be awarded with a MVK second class with swords. This MVK first class is a late production of Hemmerle, can you show better pictures of the MVO?

Hello, it is a Leser Typ 1 with real golden center. I miss the cross above the crown on the front center. Fo me, it looks like a repair of the black enamel. The "L" was mountend seperately, also the lion of the backside. Here for example a piece of my collection.

I agree with waldo. Weiss was court jeweler of the Bavarian king. He had a name to lose if he had delivered such faulty goods.

This is a Deschler second class with "lost" swords.

Hello, ther are 27 double awardings, but Franz Geiger from the 2. Res. Jägerbataillon got only the golden medal. He was named in the Bayern Goldenes Ehrenbuch for both medals. The most famous was Max von Müller, he got both medals, the golden württemberg medal, the blue Max and post mortem the MMJO.

Fürstenfeldbruck is a town in Bavaria. The swords are not fixed, that is a detail for adaptation. In my collection is a frist class from Weiss with adapted Hemmerle swords. On the backside you will see a long pin which fixes the swords.

Hello, the first bar was from a long service militar official. Long service in the bavarian army, service cross second class for 24 years and Treuedienstauszeichnung (third Reich) for 40 years.The Ribbon of the MVK was especially for noncombattants. Since 1915 the MVK was awarded only with swords. The MVK was made by Leser, the swords will be awarded seperately, the were made by Hemmerle. Very nice bar, I'm excited. A lot of MVK's were adapted with swords in wartime, that's the reason why MVK without swords are so rare. The second bar is also a official bar with different awards. Reuss Verdienstmedaille with swords gold. Last position is the servicecross 15 years for NCO's. This MVK was made by Deschler.

Very nice. Are all items from the same person? Here my newest entry, a prussian Hauptmann (Captain). He was awarded with the bavarian Michaelsmedaille 1911 as a Fähnrich ( ensign ) . In 1918 he got the Hausorden of Hohenzollern knightscross with swords, but he died three month later, so this award is missing on the bar. The EK2 was replaced by a EK1. The MVO is a Leser wit golden medaillons.

It does not necessarily have to be an officer. Possibly a senior servant at the Bavarian court, who previously served in the army. Instead of the RAO, it can also be the medal of the RAO. The first is a Ritterkreuz knightscross second class awarded to Leutnant and higher ranks. The knightscross was made of gold, the MVK was made of silver. The MVK was given to NCO's and privates.

Here something new in my collection. A bar of a bavarian major, he died 1899. He took part at the 1870 campaign, where he got the bavarian MVK. Later as an officer he got the Ritter 2. I've got the bar with only a 1870/71 coin and five campaignbars. For better showing I've addet the orders from my colletion, but he got the Ritter 2 without swords. regards Andreas
