    1. Hello, ther are 27 double awardings, but Franz Geiger from the 2. Res. Jägerbataillon got only the golden medal. He was named in the Bayern Goldenes Ehrenbuch for both medals. The most famous was Max von Müller, he got both medals, the golden württemberg medal, the blue Max and post mortem the MMJO.
    2. Fürstenfeldbruck is a town in Bavaria. The swords are not fixed, that is a detail for adaptation. In my collection is a frist class from Weiss with adapted Hemmerle swords. On the backside you will see a long pin which fixes the swords.
    3. Hello, the first bar was from a long service militar official. Long service in the bavarian army, service cross second class for 24 years and Treuedienstauszeichnung (third Reich) for 40 years. The Ribbon of the MVK was especially for noncombattants. Since 1915 the MVK was awarded only with swords. The MVK was made by Leser, the swords will be awarded seperately, the were made by Hemmerle. Very nice bar, I'm excited. A lot of MVK's were adapted with swords in wartime, that's the reason why MVK without swords are so rare. The second bar is also a official bar with different awards. Reuss Verdienstmedaille with swords gold. Last position is the servicecross 15 years for NCO's. This MVK was made by Deschler.
    4. Very nice. Are all items from the same person? Here my newest entry, a prussian Hauptmann (Captain). He was awarded with the bavarian Michaelsmedaille 1911 as a Fähnrich ( ensign ) . In 1918 he got the Hausorden of Hohenzollern knightscross with swords, but he died three month later, so this award is missing on the bar. The EK2 was replaced by a EK1. The MVO is a Leser wit golden medaillons.
    5. It does not necessarily have to be an officer. Possibly a senior servant at the Bavarian court, who previously served in the army. Instead of the RAO, it can also be the medal of the RAO. The Peace Band of the MVO can also be for a Military Merit Cross. The King Ludwig Cross was awarded to all ranks and also civilians. The red ribbon can also be for the Iron Cross of Merit from Austria Das muss nicht zwingend ein Offizier gewesen sein.
    6. Number 2 Goldene Hochzeits-Jubiläumsmedaille http://www.ehrenzeichen-orden.de/deutsche-staaten/goldene-hochzeits-jubilaumsmedaille-1918.html Nr. 4 two possibilitys Jubiläumsmedaille http://www.ehrenzeichen-orden.de/deutsche-staaten/jubilaumsmedaille-fur-die-armee-1905.html or Goldene Hochzeit-Erinnerungsmedaille http://www.ehrenzeichen-orden.de/deutsche-staaten/goldene-hochzeits-erinnerungsmunze-tragbar-versilbert.html Nr. 7 Österreich.
    7. The first is a Ritterkreuz knightscross second class awarded to Leutnant and higher ranks. The knightscross was made of gold, the MVK was made of silver. The MVK was given to NCO's and privates.
    8. Here something new in my collection. A bar of a bavarian major, he died 1899. He took part at the 1870 campaign, where he got the bavarian MVK. Later as an officer he got the Ritter 2. I've got the bar with only a 1870/71 coin and five campaignbars. For better showing I've addet the orders from my colletion, but he got the Ritter 2 without swords. regards Andreas
    9. Hello Laurentius, The KLK did not have to be returned. According to statutes, it had to be dropped when a bavarian swords award was given. After the war one often sees bars with both awards. For the MVO / MVK all classes were allowed to be worn if they were acquired in different wars.
    10. Pflugmann was also winner of the golden braverymedal. He was commended in 1916 by divisional order because he freed a patrol from the 2nd ditch. He got the iron ring for his lost weddingring.
    11. Propably a special gift of the unit like a golden watch or another awards. Here a example from the listings about cufflinks given by the Kronprinz. "Hat vom deutschen Kronprinz nach seiner Flucht als Anerkennung ein Paar goldene Manschettenknöpfe erhalten" Received a pair of gold cufflinks from the German Crown Prince following his escape as recognition This was a winner of a golden bavarian golden braverymedal. h e escaped from French captivity
    12. So I find the bar not unusual, except the last cross but everything is right. The Schwarzburger Kreuz should be ahead of the Red Cross awards. The King Ludwig Cross had to be filed according to the statutes, if an MVO was awarded. After the war, however, there were several bars with both awards. Nice bar.
    13. the three decorations in the circle are awards from a shootingclub. The cross from a prussian veterans-association has a wrong ribbon ( see arrow)
    14. That looks very good. Is the left SL with Karl made of zinc or silver?
    15. Hello Chris, do you have more informations abou him? Normally, the entry age was 20 years. Schmidhuber is a common name in Bavaria, so there will be hundreds of lists.
    16. Lauer delivers the Ordenskanzlei till 1916. So you won`t see red boxes for the Lauer-crosses. This type was the first from beginning. The second type has smaller swords. Type 1 up Type 2 down
    17. Hallo Walter, jetzt bekommen wir zum Denglish auch noch einen bayerischen Akzent dazu ;-)
