    1. Hello Pete, he also got the bavarian servicemedal for 9 years and the woundbadge black. His las rank was Feldwebel He died on the 15. Dec. 1943. My english is to bad, to give you a correct translation. He rescues three infantrymen, which were spilled in a mine funnel (Minentrichter) During the rescue, only with spades, they were attackd by enemy artillery. At any time, a hostile counter-attack had to be expected. cheers Andreas
    2. On the End of war there were four manufacturer, Leser, Hemmerle, Deschler and Weiß. Lauer produces till 1916. I think that's the reason why Lauer has only blue boxes. In 1916 something changes for the bavarian decorations, the golden parts would be silver guilt, the ribbons become smaller and the boxes change to a simply red box. It would be interesting to know the productions of all manufacturers and all classes in the seperate years of war. Regards Spolei
    3. Hello Chuck, the onepiece cross were made in the 1918s. The manufacturers had to produce cheaper decorations,so they made one-piece crosses with seperate swords. Weiss made only a few of copper ( non ferrous metal) with copper swords third class with swords and crown/swords. Deschler startet with copper crosses and change to zink crosses with iron swords. The third Class with crown and swords is rare. In my collection ther is a coppered zinc-cross with swords. Here some examples Deschler zinc coppered, zinc crown swords. Deschler coppered ( look at the backside agraffe) and Deschler zinc. Weiss onepiece swords and crown swords.

    8. Hello, there are several decorations possible. The Beamtenband was given for noncombattants for all classes of the MVK also to the fourth and third class of MVO. Instead of the Jubiläumsmedaille could be the Luitpoldmedaille 1911, which was awarded with a red ribbon for civilans and the red/green ribbon for military persons. The blue ribbon could be for the Treuedienst Ehrenzeichen 25 and 40 years. Here my Beamten-bar.
