    1. Why a EKII on a ribbon bar or medal bar and also a EKII ribbon in the button hole? I've seen this in other photos too.
    2. FIRST SERGEANT MULLIGAN [Yelling into a gold bar when the phone rings] Fire! [sets down the gold bar and picks up the phone] FIRE! :)
    3. He's a "Gunner" for sure!!!!! It's called, getting high on the "saltpeter" in the powder bags............... ;)
    4. A certain bayonet Eric has!!!!

    5. You keep your old pard in mind if ya ever want to part with it....again. I've already made a place for it next to the Luger in my showcase......................
    6. OK OK and???????????????????????? If I had a feedblock but I don't. I bought a lot from Manions back in 94. I was in Germany getting ready for the 50th Anniversary of D-Day.
    7. Rubbing salt into a wound, are we????? Hey Chris, why sometimes I have smilies and sometimes not? I can't live without Smilies, too many will take me serious when I don't have them to use. Ed
    8. In a MGK in 1915, those s71/84, 11 would have been issued to the 11 unteroffiziere w/sawback along with P-08 Lugers. One would have been issued to the waffenmeister (armorer) but no P-08. 104 would have been issued to the Schutzen, 2 to the waffenmeisterhilfe (armorerassist),1 to the Stellmacher, 1 to the sattler, 1 to the blacksmith, 25 to the horse handlers and 40 to the Rekruten all w/o sawback. Let's talk trade!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
    9. DAMN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Eric.................Shall we talk or will I walk around all day in tears?????
    10. I'm sure I'm not ready that receipt correctly but, did he have to pay 77RM to the officer's Corps/Club?
    11. Reading postings like this reminds me, it really wasn't much different in the british or American army, aristocrats VS common layman. I could always see the friction/off standish/disdain West Pointers had for ROTC and especially for OCS during my twenty years. It was the European acceptance that the hierarchy/aristocrats since Christ was a corporal, they called the shots and let no peon tell them different.
    12. Small arms, Luger, rifles, bayonets etc etc. It's breaks down unit type and what and how many men, their weapons by rank would have been issued. Although it doesn't give "every" unit like other books, it still is a book to have. There might be an even better book that I'm not aware of...yet. The book I posted by Jeff Noll I posted earlier in on this thread is also a great book based on regimental markings of known and documented firearms and sidearms and not just Lugers. It breaks down by year and model.
    13. "Handbuch Deutscher Waffenstempel auf Militar und Diensthandwaffen 1871-2000" by Albrecht Wacker & Joachim Gortz, in german text but a very important book to have to research and find unit marking identifications. The book gives much more information about units;ie,year organized and garrison/s, broken down by provinces and states. Also gives unit breakdown of who was issued what firearms.
    14. DAMN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You have one too??????????? For some reason my puny collection of Lugers seems trivia compared to Big Boys you fellows have.
    15. Jealousy is a two-way street my friend............but I don't begrudge anyone in the same hobby/interest as I am for having something that I'd love to have myself. As long as they share them in photos and information, it actually belongs to a family of collectors....................We Band of Collectors!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
    16. I picked this up some time back. Not a model I'm familiar with but since it has a London maker tag, maybe someone can tell me more of what I have sitting in the closet. The US Army had something familiar late in the 1880s but unless it's an import, why would it come from London? Looks like it had ay one time a chin strap.
