    1. Hi everyone, this one should be easier, as its typed in quite clear letters. Award Card Reverse Here are the awards, as listed: Order of the Red Banner Nr. 8631 (!) 21.3.1940 Order of the GPW 2nd class Nr. 511279 17.05.1945 Medal for Military Merit Nr. 2.942.094 06.05.1946 Order of the Red Star Nr. 2.741.896 06.11.1947 Order of the Red Banner Nr. 408.374 20.04.1953 (I have a group with a LS-ORB Nr. 408.346) Medal for the Defense of Stalingrad Medal for Victory over Germany
    2. I have had a little collection of NK awards, but i only had the cheap versions, which were not so attractive. The only screwback type, which was in my pricerange, was the National Flag 3rd class and maybe the Soldier?s Honor Award 2nd class (sorry, don?t have the correct names handy). All the higher classes are much too expensive to collect and i better spend my money on soviet awards, as they are researchable. But no doubt, the early versions are very nice Great overview, Tang Si Gerd
    3. Thanks, Rick. Quite a high award for a Junior Lieutenant, but he already got a Red Star(obviously for the Kursk Battle) and a Bravery Medal. I wonder if Comrade Stepachev survived the war... Here is a map, i found on http://rkkaww2.armchairgeneral.com (Its about Kursk though...) Thank you very much again, Rick. Gerd
    4. Eric, as far as i know and as the quality speaks for itself, i assume, these were produced in the Soviet Union. I hope, someone corrects me, if i am wrong. Gerd
    5. now to the handwritten citation, the ink obviously came through the original document and makes it even more bad readable. Here is the first half of the obverse:
    6. and the third award card is for a Bravery Medal, awarded two months after the Red Star above, in September 1943
    7. Hello gents, finally i have a researched OGPW 1st class. And it looks interesting, but the citation is unfortunately handwritten and i have a hard time to gather any info at all from it. Interestingly this research came with three award cards. One for this OGPW 1st class:
    8. Thanks again everyone. Rick, if it would come to his Red Banner 3rd award, my financial abilities to reunite this group were too limited. The other pieces though... best, Gerd
