    1. Here is a frackette with a mini 57er.
    2. On the other hand, materials such as leather or pearl need a gentle fondling to retain vibrancy. Like a good woman...
    3. Cotton gloves are essential... body oils damage fabrics... If you've been wondering why that old ribbon - which had been OK for years - suddenly decomposed, now you know.
    4. Here is another, maker-marked "65" for K&Q, of the type identified as: "the 'earlier' ones were made of a higher quality metal, and tend to hold their finish better."
    5. I group these unscientifically into two-three major types, represented here. 1. finely silver-highlighted. 2. crummy silver-highlighted, dissipated over time. 3. non-highlighted crummy zinckers.
    6. Red Dog was a fast-action card game played by US servicemen during World War II.
    7. There are some cooool photographs in it, but I'm not going to publish too many of them yet. The album is an object of some current research on my part. Ruth is top-center in these. Is that Willi enjoying himself at her side?
    8. One of a kind. This photo album belonged to one Ruth Naeher-Gl?ck, who married Wilhelm Groener. You remember Wilhelm... one-time confidante of both Hindenburg and Ludendorff, he was the poor sap who - on November 9th, 1918 - had to tell the Kaiser to abdicate. Later, he was German Minister of Defense and Minister of the Interior. Died 1939.
