    1. I am looking primarily for ribbon bars that have both German/Slovak awards and the National Uprising Medal 2nd class, cased. I have the 1st class cased and several of the third class medals, but stupidly passed on a cased 2nd as i had hoped to find it in Bratislava.
    2. Iver - thanks very much... I found a few items while I was in Bratislava, but am still looking for others. Regards, Paul
    3. Some other more notable Yugo scholars may want to chime in, but I am pretty certain this is not Yugo. Check out the Soviet forum. Happy Holidays! Paul
    4. I came across one of these in Bratislava earlier this year and was told it was some sort of National Guard type award. Don't know if it was true or not.
    5. Thanks much Ed, I will try and post the translated descriptions of all the items later. It is too bad that Spink won't share the information. The piece I got off ebay is a Spink medal. Interestingly, the Sudanese no longer issue medals - they only issue the ribbons. I had a former Sudanese Defense Attache help me locate about 1/2 of my loot.
    6. Looking forward to it. There was a lot more out there, but I wasn't sure if I would get it all back through Customs (Sudanese).
    7. I have a bit of Iraqi ODM, but it was obtained through friends...I haven't been sent yet - though STATE is about to change that for a lot of people. I will see if I can hunt down my mini medal set from Iraq - it is pretty cool. Thanks for looking and I always enjoy your posts.
    8. I posted all of my stuff from my trip to Sudan in a seperate post...I hope you enjoy it. I will try and get the translations on later. These are my first attempts at posting so hopefully they will pass muster.
    9. Joint Military Commission - International Monitor
    10. A small selection of miniature and full size medals
    11. I will have to add the information about this insignia later...the one with the traffic light is the Khartoum Traffic Police.
    12. So, I didn't do too bad for a three week TDY...first of several Posts...
    13. I bought two sets of these from Goran and really like them. They were very hard to find while I was in Belgrade and only came out after I left. They make a nice addition to the collection and are reasonable priced. Paul.
    14. As a matter of fact, Walter, if you find an extra IKOM version let me know... thanks. Paul.
    15. Gentlemen - The flat, thin wreath which looks fairly cheap compared to its Russian made brethren is legit. It is an IKOM version. Several important collectors in Belgrade had the IKOM versions which didn't come up on the market all that often. I am sure once Ranko is on his feet again he could weigh in. Marko, his son, is also pretty knowledgable. Regards. Paul.
    16. Hey, you will have to tell me where you have found medals! I am going to Khartoum early next week for a three week TDY. I will also likely be travelling to Juba and El Fahser, possibly even Niyala.
    17. Ranko - It is great to see you on this forum. I have told others on this forum that you and Bjelos had been giving thought to publishing a new guide on YU militaria. Hope that is still on the horizon. I still go over the ODM book you did on Albania. Anyway, hope to see you more on this site! Regards. Paul.
    18. I actually picked up Militaria House's books on Slovakian awards prior to my trip to Bratislava. Same set up as the Yugo book, but the information was much more scattered. I was looking for things like number of awards issued, etc... And, you hit the nail on the head...they are reminiscent of a 60s/70s era reference.
