    1. I've heard of them. They look like nice cases. That's a great display also.
    2. I have about 7 TR combat awards, which I'm going to be putting in a small case with enough room to add some more when I pick one up from time to time. EK's are going to remain my main focus all the same, while dabbling in combat awards, the odd piece of headgear or a flag or banner. I can't wait to see your display.
    3. Sounds like my type of collection. I'm going to be looking for new display cases soon also. Plus don't hide anything in a box, it's all good.
    4. Gadzooks! You should count them up and let us know. Maybe a picture of them all together.
    5. You hate to see someone have to give up thier collection, but at least they went to a good home. I've been looking at your recent postings and it looks like you have picked up some great examples. How many Iron crosses, of all years and classes do you have in your collection now?
    6. Nice. They just keep flowing in.
    7. And the rear. Nice look to this one.
    8. It's been awhile but here's another one. Posted seperatley a few days ago but I'm actually using this post as my own reference thread to keep a track of my EK2's. A Third Reich era produced example marked L/57 on the ring.
    9. Yes Mike, the core details concerning the crown and W are different than I have seen on any of my other crosses. The crown is very unique. I think this was a god pick up for sure.
    10. I assumed that the fact that it's marked L/57 would make it a Third Reich production piece. The dimensions and the frosting are give aways too. Thanks for the comment.
    11. Here's the rear. Thanks for looking. Steve
    12. This just arrived. It's my 60th Iron Cross. I paid a bit more than normal for this one but I figured you don't see them much. It's marked L/57 clearly on the ring. This piece has a pretty unique look. The core is a matte black, and the beading almost has a golden hue to it that doesn't show as much in the pictures. It has the demensions of a TR period cross. You don't see too many L marked EK2's from either the 1914 or 1939 series, so I'm glad I got this one. Do you even see the maker L/57 that much at all? What does everyone think?
    13. The cross itself has a great look to it.
    14. That is an awesome looking cross! Maybe this is a similar situation to the with the WS overstamped with Z EK2.
    15. One of my little side project is to collect all the different maker marked wartime issue flat pinback EK1's. So far I have 4 of them. So I am always looking out for something to help this project along.
    16. I try not to overpay for items. I look for marked examples I don't have and avoid duplicates. My wallet is the real limitation.
    17. Is this and the others part of that big stash of 1939 EK's you said you were getting?
    18. I'm happy with them. I find have been picking up more EK1's than EK2's lately. In the 39 series I think they are a better value. Of course switching to EK1's from EK2's hits the wallet harder also! I try not to sell anything and have been luckey so far that I haven't had to.
    19. Thanks Dave. I've gone more Imperial lately but a few 39's have trickled in. I really like these two.
    20. I have a brass frame EK1 but not an EK2. Another one to look for. Do these ever come with makers marks?
    21. Here's the rear with the device removed showing the maker mark and one of the other unknown marks this maker is known for. This time a small x.
    22. Here's the rear with attachment device.
    23. Here's the rear. It's an early one with the distinctive pin.
    24. Here's a couple of recent pickups I thought I'd show. First is an unmarked Meybauer.
