    1. No doubt they have been together for awhile. How long would it take for the effect you mention to happen? Ten years? Thirty? Thirty years is along time, yet it only puts us at 1978. Like i said, great set either way. I'd love to have it.
    2. Either way it's a nice set, but it's hard to say if the two items came together. I would say no, as the case is probably mid war, with the cross maybe being 15-20 years older or more.
    3. Are you sure this is WW2 era and not from the 20s or 30s? It looks vaulted and has hardware that looks like early Shinkle, but no other TR type of cross. The case is WW2 but the EK may be earlier.
    4. Nice. The 800 V is hard to find, and not one I have come across yet for my own collection.
    5. I did not know this. How long has this information been available?
    6. Yes I believe the case is Austrian, maybe service medals.
    7. CD 935, I have never heard of this one. Sounds like a nice find. Is that the original case?
    8. Yes, this is an inscription seen on these cases. The view of war up until that point was different than what many of us believe today, hence such an inscription. I have not seen a we marked EK2, only EK1s, whicg are not even the most common. Are you sure it says we?
    9. There are 3 KAG cores? I thought it was only 2.
    10. Wow, nice pick ups. The blue cores are some of the nicest in the 200 years of this award.
    11. That is a nice one. So many different versions of these out there. Too bad I don't see any myself to buy lately. I was doing well for awhile, but know I can't remember the last I picked up a new EK1 1914.
    12. AWS also made standard designed EK1s also, in addition to the pillowback. Here is a screwback marked 925. The AWS symbol is one the hardware of this one. Does anyone have a non pillowback AWS in pinback?
    13. This maker was the only one kn own to use this unique rear design, so when you see it you know it's AWS. Here's a screwback I have.
    14. Finally, picked up this one, what I believe to be an FO. The mark in hand looks like FO. Again, like many it's hard to say 100%. Nice cross either way.
    15. Here's another that you don't actually come by everyday. It's a post WW2 replacement cross. I originally thought this was a TR era made piece, but further research determined it was more of a 1957 type piece. It's of good quality and is in great shape. It has diffrent frosting than a TR era cross. It's an interesting variation that made not appeal to purists, but I feel it's part of the history of this cross, and veteran's were still alive at that point. The end of WW2 is irrelevant really to the 1914 EK series.
