    1. The rich get richer. Awesome piece.
    2. Interesting topic considering maker marks are one of the main driving forces behind collecting, especially when people collect multiple examples of the same award.
    3. I love it. I have it in with my Iron Crosses case, the only non EK there and it really fits in nicely. I'm going to be looking for more of these German States awards, within budgetary means of course, because some are quite pricey.
    4. Thanks. This is sounding better all the time.
    5. What other makers are still around I wonder? How about the firms from WW2?
    6. Don't worry, my wallet has had it! And thanks, this is a nice one.
    7. They can't all be mint. What can you do? The paint just never stayed on. This one never cost an arm and a leg either. An interesting variant.
    8. Wilm is still out there? That's pretty interesting. They may have some information, maybe even some old examples from the firms history. Why not, we do.
    9. The pin does resemble one I have seen stamped 800. I usually go for marked examples, but this one was too nice to say no to.
    10. Yes I think they made Panzer Assualt badges and Infantry Assualt badges. Things like that.
    11. Here's the rear. It's unmarked as these often are. I wonder who made this one?
    12. Here's another recent pickup. This appears to be a brass core EK1. You can see the brass starting to show through on the crown. It looks like the core may be treated with some other silver coating. No rust here but like alot of these, the paint never lasted. It doesn't look so good but I like to collect these variants.
    13. Here's the rear. Any ideas?
    14. Just picked up this nice unmarked EK1. It's highly vaulted and has a nice look. Any ideas on the maker?
    15. I like the fact that you made a phone call. That's dedication. Could it have been another firm with the same name?
    16. Nice. Another one to add to the wish list.
    17. I believe this is a later one. It looks to be painted brass to me also. Thanks. Any idea how many of these were made later. There is said to be under 7000 awarded.
    18. The rear. This one is highly vaulted. Any ideas on the maker?
    19. Just picked up this nice Oldenburg FA cross in first class. You don't see these around as much as they are rarer than Iron Crosses. This one is pretty nice and is a good compliment to my EK collection. Any ideas what these are made of?
    20. I've always wondered this myself. How is such a common maker like KAG unknown? How are so many unknown? There seems to be a lot of knowledge about other aspects of these items, yet most makers are unknown. How was it determined that Fr is Friedlander and FR is Frank & Reif? Yet F is unknown? I'm sure there are some that can be positivley ID'ed but what about the rest?
    21. That's how I feel about all my crosses. I have 3 new Imperial 1st class pick ups I will post tonight. Cheers! Would love to get a brass frame square punch one of these days.
    22. Thanks, it's one of my favorite's. Really good core detail on this one.
    23. Here's the rear. No picture of the mark but it is there on the ring quite easy to see. Maybe it's a quality control mark or something. Both of these crosses shown here use something other than iron as the core. Interesting.
    24. I also have one of these squre punch marked EK2's. Mine has a zinc core.
    25. Yes these are a joy to collect. Each one has it's own charms. They come directly from an era that is long gone yet you can have a little part of it with each one.
