    1. A fellow member said they like Imperial bars with foreign awards so I though I would post this one. The medals are: 1. Iron Cross 2nd Class 1914 combattant ribbon 2. Hindenburg Cross with Swords 3. Austria: Military Merit Cross with Military Decoration (pre-1938 mounting precendence) 4. Bulgaria: Civil Merit Order 1st Class in gold (silver gilt) with Crown 5. Greece: Phoenix Order Knight Cross, Republican Period (est 1936) 6. Yugoslavia: Order of the Yugoslavia Crown, Knight 7. Hungary: Order of Merit Cross 3rd Class Per RR probable a 1930's diplomat. If this bar looks familiar to anyone please let me know.
    2. Claudio, Great bar. What is interesting is that with all of those medals there is no long service cross. Do you know who's bar it is?
    3. Follow the link to the sales room for new research tool (7 ranklists) to research Imperial Germany Army and Navy officers. http://gmic.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=6989
    4. It is beautful and the picture makes it, but 14000 euros is crazy. Even if I had the money I would not pay that much.
    5. Thanks for the pics. The first one of him does show a ribbon bar. It looks like there are 4-5 ribbon? Any guesses?
    6. Is this an officer's or EM bar? I don't have a pic of the back. What is the office name of the third medal from the left. Thanks.
    7. Would someone list the awards for the ribbon? I would think the HHO w/ swords, the Waldeck and lack of 25 year would make it possible. The Waldeck rolls are published, as well as the Bayern rolls.
    8. Just got these today. The first one has the EK2, Wurttemberg Bravery, Waldeck and Austrian(?). The second has the EK, Brunswick and Hindenburg w/swords. Both are, I believe, EM ribbon bars. Of note the Waldeck bar has a rather wide pin. Due to there being no Hindenburg I ass ume it is from the '20.
    9. Some general questions: 1. What the heck is a beamte? I see the term often, what does the guy do? 2. Were the Germany Navy See batalion officers Navy officers or Army? Were they like the US Marine Corps? Thanks
    10. A Saxon officer from the regular army who entered service around 1897 and survived the war should be about what rank?
    11. Some of you may know where this came from. I jumped on it when I saw it this morning. A 4 place medal bar, regretable minus the medals which I will try to replace. The medals are, left to right, EK, Long Service Medal, Prussian Life Saving Medal and Kaiser Centennial. Per Rick, The bar is for an enlisted man and not officer because of the hooks. My question is... What timew period is this from? Pre-WWI or during. If I am going to replace the medal I need to know if I need a 1870 EK or a 1914.
    12. I am tring to determine the correct dress eppaulettes for a Bayern officer der Reserve in Bayern IR 1, not the Lieb Guard unit. If anyone has a picture that would be great. Thanks.
    13. I find it interesting that there are no WWII decorations, not even a simple EK2 clasp. I have a 1944 KreigsMarine RL home and will check later. It will be interesting to see if he is listed. I checked my 1936 and 1944 RL and do not find him.
    14. Thank you so very much for posting this. I have been looking for a ribbon identification chart. Great Job and welcome to the forum.
    15. The AHRL and the 1914 RL have Sietz in IR170. This leads me to believe that the archive's records are incomplete or they were just to lazy to look and said not found. Per The Master the bar is traced to Sietz.
    16. I would appreciate a translation of the letter I received from the Baden-Wurttemberg Archiv in regards to getting information about an officer, Seitz, in IR170. Thanks
