    1. I think I have something like 600,000-700,000 names from the years 1918-2025 on my list. The list has nothing to do with these books, though. I have other similar lists too.
    2. Direktör Dymling, Carl Anders Göteborg, 26.3.1898 Medal of Merit of the Civil Defence I Class with Clasp 10.1.1945
    3. Grand Master of the Order of the White Rose of Finland Helsinki. I hereby respectfully propose that Field Marshal Eduard Milch of the German Air Force be awarded the Grand Cross of the White Rose of Finland with Swords and that Lieutenant General Paul Hase be awarded the Commander's Cross of the White Rose of Finland, 1st Class with Swords. Both of the aforementioned German officers have worked particularly meritoriously for the benefit of the Finnish Army. I respectfully request that the proposal be processed urgently so that the decorations can be awarded to the highest German military personnel in connection with the awarding of the Cross of Liberty, which will take place shortly. Commander-in-Chief of the Defence Forces Field Marshal Mannerheim "Lieutenant General Hase has worked particularly meritoriously for the benefit of the Finnish Army."
    4. Pretty similar details to the Polish Polonia Restituta. Modern crosses are quite ugly compared to these older ones made by Tillander. I read somewhere that some foreigners preferred this over the White Rose of Finland, so those unfamiliar with the subject may have mistaken the cross on a red ribbon for the French Legion of Honor. 😄
    5. At least, as far as I know, Professor Arvi Kivimaa has received all the medals in the picture. WIKIPEDIA He received the Cross of Liberty (4 th class, Winter War) for civil merits on June 21, 1941. He was entitled to wear the clasp "KOTIJOUKOT" on his commemorative medal. It is not uncommon for a clasp to be missing. I'm not sure about the other commemorative medal, but he very likely received that as well. It's hard to say without more detailed research if it's him...
    6. I bought these from Germany several years ago.
    7. Class and award date are correct. Kapitän zur See. I try to answer your question you tomorrow. I've been busy.
    8. Commander's Cross 2nd Class (not the first) of the Order of the White Rose of Finland with Swords. Date is correct. He is listed as Kapitän zur See. Born 3.4.1895, Braunswalde. Unfortunetly i'm not allowed to give any citations since further information is not open for public.
    9. "Admiral Ostlandin esikuntapäällikkönä persoonallisesti vaikuttanut meille erittäin edullisesti materiaalin vaihtoon ja yhteistoimintaan. Edellisiä koskevien neuvottelujen saksalaisena johtajana käyttänyt asemaansa molemminpuolisen hyvän vuorovaikutuksen lujittamiseksi." "As Admiral Ostland's chief of staff, he personally influenced us in a very favorable way in exchange of material and cooperation. As the German leader of the previous negotiations, he used his position to strengthen mutual good interaction." - Vili
    10. According to his medal index card he was was indeed awarded the clasp as well. Of course, it is another matter whether the clasp was delivered to him... I think it's likely his medal was sent first to finnish military attacé in Germany and that's why there is delay. Another possibility is that he was authorized to wear the medal date 15 October 1941 and this date is noted on the paper. Yes, Foreigners can be awarded the medal without the claps for peace time merits. - V
    11. Cross of merit of the Civil Guard was awarded in iron, silver and gold. Von Bonin was awarded the cross in iron 4.12.1941. Medal of Merit, First Class with clasp (1939-1940) of the Civil Defence was sent to him 28.3.1941. According to the rules, only the 1st class of the medal could be awarded to a foreigner. Of course there are exceptions. He was also awarded the Cross of Liberty 1st class 31.1.1942. - Vili
    12. This Swedish-language medal is actually not very common. The medal was intended to be kept together with the certificate of award, where it was originally attached. Sometimes you see the medal sewn together with other medals. The medal was designed by sculptor Oskari Jauhiainen.
    13. Maybe the seller can tell you the number... https://www.tradera.com/item/292201/612603027/finland-spanne-med-8-medaljer
