    1. Hi all Now this isnt my area of collecting, but these two patches have recently made it into casa-de-Jewitt. I assume that they are silver bullion, and appear to be of very high quality. They came with a quantity of WWI pieces, so I took it that they are of theat same period. Does any one have any information to share? Dan
    2. Thanks for the info guys! And a pearl handele revolvers would certainly look great in my collection, so if there are any laying around anywhere, unwanted......
    3. Hi Paul No can do im afraid - the photos were all i had from the seller (bar one of the case), and it is no longer on offer as he sold it for almost double its asking price yesterday! Someone obviously knows a little bit more than me about the odd bird! I am a little miffed as it was on hold for me, but what can you do? As far as the eagle goes my feelings were also that it was Polish in origins, modified to carry the swastika charm. Dan
    4. To be honest Lorenzo, im unsure but I lean towards a trench art piece using a cut out tinnie badge. However, the quality of the motif part is very good and from what I can see it may be too "heavywieght" to have come from a badge.
    5. I agree that that they are both good - however the above statement doesnt ring true every time. More and more common items are being faked everyday now, and you just need to take a trip on ebay to see how many fakes of really commin items there are. I have been stung too many times now to take even the most general or common medal, badge or bar at face value - it always pays to take a second look of ask for advice Dan
    6. Todays new arrival - a lovely little striker lighter embossed with the NS Hago motif. Its not really my line of collecting, but i like it a lot. Its in working order and an unusual but quality little thing. Does anyone have anything similar? Dan
    7. Hi guys Just been offered this peice (sorry for the bad pics its all i have) Its stitched to the ribbon of a Sudatenland medal, and I have never seen anything like it previously. Any one know anything about it? Dan
    8. Hi chaps What should i be looking to spend on a cased Sudetenland Annexation Medal? Any ideas? Thanks Dan
    9. Morning! Just been offered this interesting German Sniper Award in silver. Not had one before, so i am unsure about it. Obviously he swears its genuine, hmmmmm Opinions? Sorry about the poor photos, they are the sellers. Thanks, Dan
    10. I think its #7 too. The pin and catch plate lead me to that. However I cant find my calipers so just bought some more from Evil bay. Will be a day or so until I can post measurements In the meantime, what do e make of this one? My guess is Unknown Maker #1....
    11. Thanks Mervyn Any new teasers for us today in the quiz? I really helps my days at home go by!
    12. My old man has just got his hands on a lovely Victorian Silver medal hanger and buckle to adorn a French Crimea medal which is being re-ribboned. Now at some time of its life the hanger and buckle have been badly gilded with gold. This is tarnished and worn in places, and would look much beter in just the silver finish. So, to this end, other than taking them to a jeweller to have it buffed off, how can he remove the gilding? (The reason he doesnt want to have it buffed off is that the hanger and buckle both have a lovely floral design, and he doesnt want to loose any of the detail.) All the best Dan
    13. Great item! This is what i Thought your glove gun was!
    14. A really great group Mervyn! I am yet to add any Rhodesian medals to my collection, would really like an Africa Service Medal to a Rhodesian recipient. Did they have any specific prefixed for Rhodesian recipients? Dan
    15. Any ideas what who these are for? I guess inperial german - but thats not my forte.... All the best Dan
    16. Cheers Ed! Ive had that one saved for a while and it has come in very useful a number of times!
