    1. That is nice Eric! While not from Baden-this one is from the other B--Bavaria--sitting in it'''s case. Mike
    2. A little update on the documents. I ask the seller if he had any other documents, pass books etc on man listed on the documents. All he said he had was the Verdun Document and medal. Well after a few e-mails and such--these showed up in the mail this week. The set is complete and all to the same soldier. Numbers run in order as well. Now with time and renewed funds, I'll look for the other three medals. Mike
    3. Gezzzz...Thanks for the nice words and the interest. To be honest this grouping kind of fell together.. I beleive it was going to be split up and I was offered the balance of them and only then found out they were to the same soldier. They were way above the budget but what the heck. As far as I know, there were no other documents for this man. I will follow up and make sure. Would really like to now get the Verdun document(wonder why! LOL). Darn thing is, these are veteran medals I have wanted to get (ask Stogie as we have talked about these medals many times before), never giving a thought to ever having the documents. Funny how things reverse themselves sometimes. Thanks to all who have responded-I dabble in award documents but my main interest is in veteran, regimental items, jubillee medals, Kreigerbund badges and the such. Glad to have been able to share with all here. Oh--a side note-there was one medal and I missed it.. Mike
    4. I had only seen black and white photos of these in Neimann's last book. I was pleased to be able to get three to the same soldier this last month. Now will have to look fot the other documents to complete the set. OH--while I have a few Veteran items, guess I'll have to spring for the medals now as well. I find it interesting how nicely made and colorful these are in comparison to some of the rather plain EK and Wound Badge documents.. I would love to see other Veteran type documents if they are out there---hope these don't bore you.. Mike
    5. Thanks Rick. For as nice as the front looks, the back is very plain. Nothing that I can see as far as a maker mark. Mike
    6. Was wondering if anyone out there knows which Regt. this is from (assuming it is a Regt Reunion badge of some sort!) Thanks, Mike
    7. Bought this as a possible WWII French canteen. Don't see any marking on it. Anyone know if in fact this is French or???? Thanks, Mike
    8. Thanks for your help, I beleive you are correct that the fabric is dark blue and not black. Any hint to the age or are these still in use today. Thanks for all the hlep. Mike
    9. Thanks Rick, that solves part of the problem. Any idea when used? Mike
    10. I must admit that I don't have a clue where this is from. The patch came with some other items from a friend in Germany. Since there is no thread for Iding unknown items, I thought this would be the best place to start. The patch is black with two red border stripes. Looks like it could be a uniform sleeve patch. Just wondering if anyone might know where, when and what it was for. Thanks, Mike
    11. Dave, the piping is a light blue or blue gray and there does not look like any other items were ever attached to the epaulet above the rank pips. Mike
    12. Rick, that is a wonderful photo. First I have seen with a Bavarian veteran wearing his badge. Nice to see some of the items I collect being worn. Not to change the thread, but ran across these Wurttemburg veterans wearing, among other things, their Wurttemburg Kreigerbund badges. Thought I would share it will all interested. Mike
    13. I picked this pair up at the same time as I got the other set. I have not been able to figure these out either--any help would be welcomed! Mike
    14. Well, have not been able to ID this Epaulet. Picked this pair up in Germany last summer and I still have no clue what they are for. Any help would be greatly welcomed! Mike
