Hola Paul, I had a email today saying he went to PolarFilm page and did not see the WW2 films. Go to left side Katalog, click of DVD ZEITGESCHICHTE" or to lower panal and click on airplane icon. I have been very impressed with the DVDs I have ordered and my am over my retirement budget once again!! They included catalogs and there are more I want to order. All naration is in German..many great scenes, including as I mentioned in post above includes a Beamte scene. Check out the website. The DVDs are very well done, worth the money, and I wrote them and suggested they advertise in our history magazines. Hope your cruise is going well,Cheers,John Wilson

For members, visit Polar Film website. I have used my credit card to buy German color and B&W dvds from WW2 period.Delivery to Dallas was surprisingly fast. The DVD "Die "Braunen" in Farbe" has footage taken by a Heer Beamte, White nf and one scene proves he is a "Zahlmeister". Images of his uniform are very clear and frequent, including the dark green of his WF. I am ordering more now. There is quite a selection of NSDAP and WM. Cheers,John

Hola Paul..What a treat..I about flipped my coffee on the monitor. This is so special I would like to suggest larger and more HI DEF images, please. For those many of us who will never see the original, especially future collectors and historians,a series of large and detailed images would be a wonderful. Many thanks,John Wilson

Paul,I tried to find you in member list for a privat message but could not get search to work...of course,I don't really know what I am doing. I appreciate the labor, skills, and materials that produced all the WM insignia.Looking just at your LW tabs..how did they do it?? How did they produce just the wreaths and gulls so uniformly and to such excellence? Were they machine produced? If by hand did they have schools to teach woman embroidery? I look at each tab and just marvel at the thought, execution, and design excellence. Then I look at the BW..now the LW has gone to the beret and will look as shabby as the BW Heer. What a shame that they must repudiate the morale boosting designs and lower the status of military life. Just my thoughts. My email is musketiii@hotmail.com.John Wilson

I hope I am replying in the right place. The swallowsnest was initially to prevent the straps sliding off the shoulder and then evolved into a musician-branch disticntion. I regret it is not used today as the German bands are terrific. I am blasting the Radetzky now and have a vast collection of the German military music. Go to YouTube and type in military parades of Chile and you will see Prussia alive and well, proud, self confident musicians ..with swallowsnests. There are some great video clips avavilable.BTW,PaulR I appreciate your contributions, especially Medical..I was proud Army dentist..our motto..we scare soldiers, unfortuenately ours!.Sorry for typos must get to work.John Wilson

I met an elderly lady here (age is relative,I am 70) who is still beautiful at 82.She has no computer.I invited her up to my place and showed her my BDM collection, among others. She was amazed and rattled on about the unifoms, the leaders and locations she recognized etc. I was afraid it would make her sad,but I was wrong. I also played many of the good old songs as I have a vast collection.I made her some CDs and bought her a CD player. I do not give out NS music, only the traditional. What an afternoon and she wants to come back.If she was only 70!!?? John

Hola Doug and everyone. I am retired in Mexico, near Guadalajara.I gave my collection of German militaria and uniforms to my son in Dallas before digital cameras were invented. I regret I am unable to access these relics to photograph. The didigtal camera has opened up collections that otherwise only a select few would see and I have been downloading them like a vast postal stamp collection, over 25000+ images including fotos. What else do I have to do with my time?? I wish I was back at work.Anyway, I think the future collectors should have a central collecting point for digital images certainly including photographs such as these owned by Mr. Noss. These wonderful fotos would have mouldered in some closet then been thrown out by a disinterested descendent and lost to the future historians. I do know it takes time and energy to scan and upload and I would happily pay for a CD or DVD, although I live on a budget. Think of the treasures available now..uniforms and insignia only a few of which would be included in text books and then in smeary B&W or off color fotos. So we are gifting future collectors and preserving an era's history. Never have uniforms and insignia been better made and more beautiful. Best to all,John H Wilson

Sorry I pushed the wrong button.I got rather a tart note saying perhaps I should read the directions. Someone said they would be happy to pay for a CD of these fotos. I would like to sign up.These pictures are just too valuble to history buffs to be stored away. Mr Noss is to thanked for his time and effort to bring these beautiful pictures to us. Please continue to do so. I have an elderly lady friend who was in the BDM.She has no computer and I brought her over some days ago to see my vast collection(25000+ images) of the Hitlerjahren..uniforms,insignia,fotos and 1600+ tracks of German Military Music. She was thrilled and recognized,of course, the uniforms, but also many palces and people. I was afraid of her emotional response at her age. She understood,as I do, that she had been seduced by clever leaders and lied to. We can see that now. These fotos show that process clearly. Please, post them all.Make a CD for future historians. I have suggested that all collectors of German militaria should send their images to one site so we could make CDs of the existing unifoms and insignia to preserve the information.
