Ludolf Petersen served on the Hamburg-America freighter "Kiel",which broke the British blockade in 1939. He went on to serve as a prize officer on the "Lutzow" and "Admiral Scheer". He then served as a prize officer on the Hilfskreuzer "Pinguin",and made it back to Bordeaux where he bacame the 1st officer on the "Stier". Hence his awards. I have a bunch of documents and photographs of crewmen from the "Stier". Cheers,Martin. -

Hi Michael, here are a couple of pages from Dad's Certificate of Service. Looks like he enlisted in March 1948 and no mention of service in Malaya. Cheers,Martin. -

Thanks for the replies. Dad was in the 1st RTR in Korea, service number 22202939. I will try to access the links provided above. Again, thank you for your help. Cheers,Martin. -
Hi gents, hoping for a little help here. My dad passed away back in February. His medals always hung in a frame on the living room wall.He served in Korea and spent over 20 years in the reserves. However, when cleaning out draws at the home in England i was able to find his "Certificate of Service" book. Inside the book i found a ribbon bar with the GSM ribbon on it,but dad never had a GSM on his medal bar. I am back in California now but this has me confused and i am wondering if there is any way i can find out if dad was awarded the GSM ? is there a contact number for the MoD perhaps. Any help woud be appreciated. Thanks,Martin.

Martin W replied to Scowen's topic in Wehrmacht Medals, Decorations & Awards
I think 650 euro is a decent price. Just looked at a couple of examples for sale on a friends' Canadian website. Both are in similar condition to the one above and are selling for 595-655 USD. he had another nice boxed example that was going for 1190.00 USD. Cheers,Martin.
