    3. Always happy to show this rarity. Sorry the pics is little bit blurry but it is a really small one. jacques
    4. Logically, the spanish civil war ribbon are placed in last because they are foreign decorations and the first to have been awarded in WWII. Nevertheless you can find german ribbon bars ith the spanish ribbons placed before ostmedaille or others. In that ribbon bar, I don't think the last one is a Spanish decoration. jacques
    5. Variant marked L/11, note the pin form. It exists unmarked.
    6. DEUMER of L?denscheid made spanish crosses all along the war. these crosses are of high quality, very finelly detailed, especially the grips of the swords. As the same of its comrades, this firm used several MM. I have encountered the following ones: "900", L/11, L/11 in a square. Some crosses ae unmarked but the details are those of this firm. the crosses were manufactured in bronze, tombac, massive silver (never had one in hand). Eagles: they are sharp detailed. the swas show 3 cut out branches Swords: the grips have 7 twists. they are thin and very well detailled, particularly on the side (cut out). Pin: generally the pins are flat and large at the top. but a variant exists with a more thin straight pin. Hook: the hook for the "L/11" is half-round, and always directly soldered to the cross. on the variant (thin pin), the hook is flat. Hinge: A model presents the same hinge as the EK's. the variant present the same but soldered by the base. Here are presented 3 crosses: L/11 L/11 in a square L/11 variant which can be encountered unmarked jacques
    7. Promised ! I'll do that this afternoon because I've no time now, it's 0700AM and I must go to the barracks. I don't work on friday afternoon (yeah that's great at 0200PM...) and I can do it. Concerning the Deumer and Steinhauer crosses, some details of the eagles and the swords grips are quite similar, this is the reason why it is difficult to determine an unmarked cross a Deumer or Steinhauer one. Moreover I don't know how a Godet cross looks like. Still many to learn before I write a book !
    8. Hi SAL, You know what I think of these cross... I never found one so fine since that F*****g day in Stuttgart ! But here s a pic for you wub.gif I found that in an old cigars box in a little flee market here in Germany :coola: This cross was presented as a Steinhauer one by Geissler in an old german article. Up now, I had no other information . It could be a Deumer one too. At least , I do think it's one of these two manufacturers. I will post mine later jacques
    9. I also do think the badge is not good. The E.Queen book is quite helpful and this topic is available on others forum. Several things bother me: Metal umployed Hook MM Color details of the eagle & the wreath rivets hinge To many for such a rare badge of which just one or two Juncker marked are known. Jacques
    10. The Afghan clasp was added to the Center-Europe Commemorative Medal and not to the Overseas Medal. I don't know why . I would have prefer ... Overseas medal is more associated to Africa (not everywhere), Cambodia, Gulf war... the second medal is the " Nation Gratitude Medal" for participation to foreign operations. jacques
    11. A NATO medal do exists for the troops engaged in Afghanistan (ISAF). It's the bottom left one.
    12. I'll find you one when I own 10 (not so long...) I know that you want one gold in red box and that's too scarce ! I got a computer crash and I've to set up again MSN. Sorry !
    13. This is a bronze cross MM L/21, in mint condition .
    14. Foerster & Barth of Pforzheim manufactured spanish crosses during the war. Apparently, this firm made them after the institution of the LDO (1941), because I never saw an unmarked one. All the crosses I know use the LDO mark L/21. the cross is in tombac, then silvered on bronzed. It shows sharp details on the obverse. This maker is rare. Eagles: well detailed with 3 cut out branches swas. Swords: the grips are wide and show 8 filaments(twists) Pin: typical to this maker. A little bit short, wide in the middle, with a flat form at the base (as hammered). It shows the raised MM L/21 in a recessed rectangle. Hinge & Hook: also flat typical hook and small cylinder hinge, Here is a silver cross, in well worn condition H: 56.3mm L: 56mm W:30.1g
    15. beautiful cross SAL! this is the variant with the small "900". Hope to find one in gold in that condition to complete my serie. jacques
