I have no idea where or what he did to be awarded this decoration. He didn't serve in North Afrika. I must closely check the other papers to find an answer. jacques

While in Spain with its crew and during the June 39 Berlin Parade

Once again a rare piece of history. This large grouping of documents and letters, concerns a former Luftwaffe pilot. Kurt BUCHHOLZ early entered the new Luftwaffe; he got the pilot badge on April 30th, 1935. He volunteered for the Legion Condor, serving there within the VB/88 and K/88. He flown with Hptm. Neud?rffer (Spanish cross with diamonds) . There he was awarded the highest spanish decoration attributed to foreigner, the "Medalla Militar" (only more or less 100 germans were awarded that medal). He also received the Medalla de la Campa?a and the spanish cross in gold. he participated to the Sudete annexion, and got the commemorative medal on august 21th, 1938 and the next month the Service medal class 4. He participated to the return of the Legion Condor parade which occured in Berlin on June 6th 1939, and had the privilege to be invited to evening meeting to the Chancelery. He fought against English and French troops during the French campaign. His plane was shot down and he was wounded while jumping with his parachute. He got the EK2 on September 9th , 1940 and the black wound badge in december of the same year. Recovering from his wound, he served in Norway and again in France. He ended the war in Germany.

Hi, Yes, he is wearing the white cross, which is coherent with the attribution of the SC bronze with swords. Nevertheless, I also saw the white cross to an SC silver with swords and a gold cross recipient.

It doesn't match to a Juncker cross. I would say it is a fake. I don't like the eagles that arelooking fat. I don't like the swords grips. This kind of crosses are found with other maker's mark. jacques

Hi, I have not been collecting visor caps for few year ago but I don't see something really wrong. The top is not what we expect for an officer cap, but it looks more to an NCO's cap top. It seems to match to the cap , at least on the picture. I would say it is OK. Could it be an officer candidate cap ? jacques

Masterbo, your bronze L/13 looks strange. The obverse shows all the expexted details, but the reverse is a mix between L/13 details (pin form, MM) and the early manufacture with coat of arms (hook). Normaly on L/13 we find a tiny round hook. jacques

Hi, These rings were made by jewelers, and I guess you could find some marks as silver content, or official silver/gold stamping. Concerning the design, the quality depends on the jeweler, some are sharper than other. the KIA is OK and retains all the expected details; nevertheless it uses an uncommon spanish style clasp for such a cross, which could have been added by the recipient. Don't forget that a member of the family was awarded that cross, and that the family also received the other medals posthumously attributed, among them the spanish decorations which have such clasp. What is sure is that the cross was not delivered with such clasp. to you know the owner ? bronze cross show a nice early Juncker CEJ. I found the pin of the silver cross marked "4" and the L/13 a bit strange , but may be it is only the picture. Could you make better pics?
