    1. Hi Dan, I mentioned it before but in a short form: the auction house was "Hanseatisches Auktionshaus, Hamburg" (1993). Ciao, Claudio
    2. Last but not least page 14... finally I have posted all Brunner's items... quite something, isn't it!
    3. Here I am posting several pages of HH's auction in which Brunner's items were sold. There was a huge amount of items for sale which were spead, after this auction, to the 4 winds and maybe lost forever. Ciao, Claudio
    4. Hi Glenn, Hi Dan! Thank you very much for your contributions. I never expected such replies, when I first posted this thread. I am going to ask my brother to send me some scans of the auction where some other Brunner's items were sold, since I don't have the catalogue with me. Ciao, Claudio
    5. Dear forumites: I have since a long time (more than 10 years) this Spange of Generalleutnant Josef Brunner. At the time when the spange was sold, also lots of other stuff was sold separately. I was lucky enough to purchase just the bar, I didn't have enough money for the rest, though. I am looking for a clear photograph of this officer; it would be great of him wearing his medal bar or ribbon bar. As you can see he was a bit naughty: he wrongly wore the DA 25 and DA 18 (the 2 crosses) instead of the correct couple (DA 25 and DA 12, golden cross and golden medal). Medal bar description: ? Preu?en, Eisernes Kreuz 1914, 2. Klasse (OEK 1909) ? Kaiserreich ?sterreich-Ungarn, Milit?rverdienstkreuz 3. Klasse mit Kriegsdekoration ? Kaiserreich ?sterreich-Ungarn, Signum Laudis in Gold mit Kriegsdekoration ? Kaiserreich ?sterreich-Ungarn, Karl-Truppenkreuz ? Kaiserreich ?sterreich-Ungarn, Verwundetenmedaille Laeso Militi, 1-malige Verwundung ? Deutsches Reich 1933-45, DA 1. Klasse f?r 25 Dienstjahre der Luftwaffe (OEK 3857) ? Deutsches Reich 1933-45, DA 2. Klasse f?r 18 Dienstjahre der Luftwaffe (OEK 3858) ? ?sterreich 1. Republik, Kriegserinnerungsmedaille ? 6. We are living in a small world after all... Look what I found on an old German Auction catalogue (Mars & Merkur GmbH and Hermann Historica OHG, Versteigerung seltene Orden M?nchen 12.11.1988). The hammer price at that time was DEM 2'100.- plus commission (15% only!! Today commission fees are at least 20% up to 23% and sometimes you have to add the German VAT also!). Now, after such a long travel, the bar is in my pawns!!! But I had to pay quite a salty price for that!! Ciao, Claudio
    7. Well, Sascha, first I thought that the device with crown and swords on my bar was for a Prussian Kronenorden 4th class, but I was also suggested that it could have been the less awarded (at least in the Franco-Prussian war 1870-71) House Order of Hohenzoller, RK mit Schwertern. Difficult to say with any doubt. I think the crown device on the RAO it must look differently, like the ones shown before, with the red enamal background. Just my 2 cents... Ciao, Claudio
    8. I can recognize the second from the top. Great bars! These are fun to be collected and would be a good start for any new medal bar enthusiast. When your partner has some new medal bars, especially the ones with enamel orders, please let me know! Ciao, Claudio
    9. Hi M?nster! Gadly I will stop at your counter next time and say hello to you. Your partner has been always very fair with prices and his and your pieces have been quite interesting! My brother got a small 2 pieces medal bar last time. I was really very tempted to buy Schmidt's medal bar, but I was saving up for Thies auction. Sorry!!! Ciao, Claudio
    10. Hi Gary, I saw this bar at Illingen (Sammlerb?rse) this June. I was very tempted to buy it, but I knew that a Oberst Schmidt wouldn't be easily researched. But still it's a great piece in mint conditions still attached to the hard paper backing of the juweller/tailor. I think that the asking price was Eur 500.-/550.-. I am surprised to see that such bars do a lot of travelling around in just a couple of months... first in Germany now in the USA! Great addition to your collection... my compliments! Ciao, Claudio
