    1. I think this is what you are looking for. This was the best I could locate Lukasz, photos must be few and far between. Regards; Johnsy

    3. Nice badges Leigh. They certainly like badges and bits to hang off their uniforms. I'm not sure how rare these would be, but given that Bri-Mob has a standing strength of about 10000 to 12000 members, and Detatchment 88 (counter-terrorism) is a small section of Bri-Mob, then they could probably be considered rare amoung a population over 200,000,000. They (Bri-Mob) are considered to be "elite", though many atrocities in Aceh have been attributed to them. The amount of different types, styles and patterns of uniforms they use over there can be very confusing. They seem to have a great deal of para-military units. Bri-Mob is probably the better organised of the lot, certainly they seem to be more uniform in appearance in the field than many other units. They are well equipped with APC's to give them mobility and fire power. Regards; Johnsy
    4. You are correct in saying that this is "Pavlov's House". The black and white image from Wik'pedia is a bit deceiving when you compare the two, but it has been 60 years since the war! Looks like an interesting place, I would love to get there one day. If not I can always come here for a look. Regards; Johnsy
    5. Finished. Note the subtle cam pattern.

    11. G'da All Earlier this year at our Summernats (for all of you "up top" it is winter here now) the Army showed off some of its latest hardware. An M1A1 Abrams tank and the Army?s street machine, Armygeddon, competed for attention with some of Australia?s finest vehicles at this year's Summernats in Canberra. Armygeddon is a six-wheeled, seven-litre, fired-up street machine that was purpose built to show off Army trade skills and promote careers in the military. Armygeddon is maintained and enhanced by Army technical trade trainees. The Abrams was driven from Puckapunyal in Victoria on the new Heavy Tank Transporter, bought especially for the new tanks. The Abrams and Armygeddon show two very different sides of the Army. Regards; Johnsy

    14. Sirius alongside at Fleet Base West, HMAS Stirling. This base is located in the southern suburbs of Perth. The RAN has a "two ocean navy" policy for MFU's (Major Fleet Units), one half of the fleet is run out of the west, the other from the east.
    15. HMAS Sirius is one of the newer additions to the RAN, being purchased mid-2004 and recently commissioned September 2006. Sirius is the first RAN ship to carry this name, however HMS Sirius (I) was commissioned into the Royal Navy in 1780 as the flagship of the 'First Fleet'. The name was selected because of its historical connections with the First Fleet and the import role the ship played in providing logistic support to the struggling economy. Her motto is "to serve and provide". The ship can carry over 34806 cz of fuel including 5486 cz of aviation fuel for use by RAN helicopters. Sirius can replenish ships at sea by day and night, and is capable of replenishing two ships at a time. She has transfer points for fuel, water and stores. 16. Thanks to the Moderator that fix up the title. Can't belive I left out the "o". HMAS Parramatta has also recently been honoured with the Meritorious Unit Citation for her work in the Gulf during 2005-06. During her deployment, Parramatta conducted 186 boardings and security patrols, 1,111 boat evolutions, 330 flying hours in its embarked Navy Seahawk helicopter and 653 investigative queries of merchant vessels. Parramatta was the first non-US Navy ship to be appointed Persian Gulf Air Defence Commander. Parramatta also initiated a successful mentoring program for the Iraq Navy which saw Iraqi naval officers spend time onboard Parramatta to observe frigate operations first hand. Seen below is the former HMAS Parramatta Executive Officer Commander Justin Jones, with the Meritorious Unit Citation.
    17. Apparently his lake has no creek running into or out of it. This combined with it freezing over during winter would keep the water-borne soluble oxygen at a minimum, thus explaining the remarkable condition of the tank. Regards; Johnsy
