I understand the precedence here.. it appears that the Merit cross took precedence over orders as the EK2 took precedence over orders. So, why is this ribbon bar assembled in this order? Glenn, thanks you your reply. I guess it could be. I like those photos wtih soldiers/officers wearing ribbons other than the EK2 in the button hole. I don't see them very often.

I think you are correct. I guess it's safe to say he has an EK1 that he chose not to wear on this day! Can you receive such awards without having earned the EK1 along them way? BTW, who is he?
