    1. I understand the precedence here.. it appears that the Merit cross took precedence over orders as the EK2 took precedence over orders. So, why is this ribbon bar assembled in this order? Mecklenburg-Schwerin?s regulations per 27 April 1905 were: 1---- Prussian Iron Cross 2nd Class 2---- Mecklenburg-Schwerin Military Merit Cross 3---- Mecklenburg-Strelitz Cross for Distinction in War 4---- Mecklenburg House Order of the Wend Crown 5---- Mecklenburg Order of the Griffin 6---- Mecklenburg Lifesaving Medal 7---- Mecklenburg Military Service Cross for Officers (defunct) 8---- Mecklenburg-Strelitz Military Service Cross for Officers (defunct) 9---- Prussian Hohenzollern House Order 3rd Class with Swords 10-- Prussian Red Eagle Order 3rd and 4th Classes with Swords 11-- Prussian Crown Order 3rd and 4th Classes with Swords 12-- Prussian Gold Military Merit Cross 13-- Prussian/Reichs Military Decoration 1st Class (silver cross) 14-- Prussian/Reichs Military Decoration 2nd Class (silver medal) 15-- Prussian Lifesaving Medal 16-- Prussian Hohenzollern House Order 3rd Class on statute ribbon 17-- Prussian Red Eagle Order 3rd and 4th Classes on statute ribbon
    2. Thank you. I have many RAF and RCAF items tucked away.
    3. I agree with Rick, no reason to donate items to museums. I have heard horror stories as you all have about items being stolen, lost, misplaced, etc. These are already in a collection by now. Ed is right, the job was commisioned...
    4. Did you get the jacket? Do you have photos of it to post?
    5. I'd think info would be available here; http://www.uboat.net http://www.uboat.net
    6. Glenn, Thank you, a very nice photo. Sproesser had a nice order bar.
    7. Glenn, thanks you your reply. I guess it could be. I like those photos wtih soldiers/officers wearing ribbons other than the EK2 in the button hole. I don't see them very often.
    8. I think you are correct. I guess it's safe to say he has an EK1 that he chose not to wear on this day! Can you receive such awards without having earned the EK1 along them way? BTW, who is he?
    9. Yeah, you are right about it being busy between the arms. I wish someone had better photos of these men
    10. I think you are right about that one. What are the other two breast orders. The one on the left loos like a Wurttemberg Crown Order.
    11. Is this Major Sproesser or Stroesser? Does anyone have a better photo of this man? I've love to see more detail of his medals bar and uniform.
    12. Is the ribbon bar on this Staff officer a non combat EK2 ribbon? It looks like it to me but is that possible?
    13. My favorite item this year. It came with matching trousers! Feldwebel-Leutnant of Hessen IR116
    14. Okay guys, what pattern is this officer's shoulder board? 1910 or 1915 Friedens?
    15. This is an attractive cap but I'm not sure what it is? It's not General Staff.
