isn't it the aluminum example? weights only the half of those buntmetall examples around and have a better silver finish remaining ... but definately good the mini is also really great - a real keeper christian

as an additional info - this medal was issued as a single mounted bar - like the one you posted. its not that common that you get your award in a case and it is ready to wear! christian

this forum turned out to be a "feldspangen"-forum. so i'd like to participate on it a bit here is it: on the reverse is no needle system - its the type for sewing onto the uniform

surfing the internet i found this ugly medal on ebay! and now, tell me who is the seller ... yes, the famous rarit?tensammlerclub! i would say, that this medal is a cast copy - because the seller states it as a silver example with 835 mark in the ring. please let me know what you think!

Order of the Rose of Lippe - for Art and Science 3rd class that would fit with the SEHO ribbon and the bulgarian (civil-merit-order?) ribbon. christian

thanks much for the historical background! no silver content mark - but i would agree on it, that it is silver. its really small (size of a 1 ? coin) but its made in really high quality, so i think its a "official" issue - its not comparable in quality to veterans medals or "special"-day awards. and the use of silver insted of iron or another cheap metal. christian

here is a close up - thats all whats visible - hope it help a bit. yes, rumania - this was a thought of a friend, too. but we didn't find anything matching. and the crown is added very well to the bar (so i don't think that someone put it on top for "upgrading" it) but to my knowledge it have to be foreign, no german award i know would fit. but what ... i really don't know!
