    1. Hello Naxos, “not a medal but currency” I never gave that possibility a thought mainly because there is no monetary value (ie. “1 Thaler”) on it. Oh well, sad to find that it is not some rare, exclusive, previously unrecorded award. Thank you for your help. Best wishes, Wild Card
    2. There is also an inscription around the rim. It is a bit worn but appears to be something like this: Fund * Fein * (scroll mark?) * ?(possibly M) XX * Min Any information will be very much appreciated. Thank you for your interest. Wild Card
    3. Reverse. Reverse inscription: Mit Gott Durch Kampf zu Sieg und Einigung
    4. Gentlemen, Can anyone identify this medal? Obverse inscription: Karl Koenig von Wuerttemberg
    5. Absolutely unbelievable! Congratulations Christian
    6. The other piece worth attention is probably at the opposite extreme as an attention geter; but I think that it is worth mention. The “Hindenburg Cross” for next of kin is rare enough, even more so as a mini, but very very rarely in a group. I apologize for the quality of the photo, but being all black, the detail just won’t come through.
    7. Rudolstadt or Sondershausen? Let’s take a look at the reverse. Aha, it is a Schwarzburg - Sondershausen.
    8. There are two pieces in particular that merit special attention, Obviously, the first is the Schwarzburg Honor Cross 3rd class.
    9. :Cat-Scratch: Gentlemen, It has been rather quiet here lately, so I thought that I would present this mini chain for your entertainment. It is of the usual Godet high quality.
    10. WC: Am I correct in that these medals are "battle" medals similar to the Spanish medals? Were they issued to officers only?
    11. Now, while we are on the subject, below is a civil merit medal on the lifesaving ribbon which Eric Ludvigsen bought rather shortly before he died. He told me that there were some awards where the civil merit medal was awarded for lifesaving merit.
    12. And now, the lifesaving medal. You don’t have to check the reverse. If you look closely at the lifesaving medal, you will see a tiny beaded circle which follows the outer border.
    13. Now let’s take a close look at the military merit medal.
    14. No Paul, This one is good and you do not have to look at the inscription on the reverse to see it. Below, very conveniently, is a bar with both the military merit medal and the lifesaving medal.
