Here is his citation for the OGPW 1st class: Where is the town Miroz, to the date I guess somewhere in east Prussian or Poland ? Has somebody information where it is ? orginal writing: МИРОЗ The interesting information how many prisions of war are captured is not readable. The last figure is a zero.

Finally, today I got the research for the group to Comrade Captain KLISHIN, Nikoly, Ivanovich: born November 1907, married russian nationality party member since 1931, Service in Red Army: 1929 to 1932 since June 1941 political officer, second in command of the 1st tank bataillon in political issues 116th tank brigade three times wounded Awards: 1 cl. OGPW 19.05.1945 and Red Star 10.05.1945 Stalingrad medal not mentioned but I think Victory over Germany medal sadly not for raising the red flag over the Reichstag in Berlin .... but for raising the Polish National banner on the Goverment House in Dantzig town (Danzig) .... To my information the MOPR was founded in the year 1922 and exists till 1948. The Organisation MOPR was founded 1922 by the KOMINTERN to liberate political prisoner and terrorists. The KOMINTERN was an international federation of all the communist party?s of the world. It was founded in 1919 (4th March) by Lenin, Bucharin, Tschitscherin,Trotzki, Sinowjew and 30 other communist politicans from countries. There target was to spread the revolution all over the world. Attached is a picture of a man wearing a MOPR badge.

Modified awards If I remember right, they where sold years ago on ebay. Seems to be a nice work from the owner, to protect the tunic. regards Andreas

Yesterday I got this in Red Banner of Labour in. It?s a rarer variation of the last type (s/n 402.674). Look at the hammer and sickle. Compare it with the second picture in post number 5. Normally the hammer shaft is under the sickle. Here it is above, as on the earlier variations of the order.

I think not 64 different schools, also included are different variations of the same school.

Badges of the MILITARY ACADEMIES; AND CIVIL SCHOLLS MILITARY DEPARTMENTS I think these badges with shields of the different schools were bestowed in 1950. In 1957 they dropped the shields. The badge for the general staff academy has a golden border.

Badges of the SECONDARY EDUCATION MILITARY SCHOOLS Hello gents, these little school badges are quite interesting and beautiful. I tried to sort these badges in a time-line. I am not sure if this is right. Any comments or corrections would be appreciated. I found several different dates and explanations in different books. The first badge was bestowed at 15. November 1950, but badges with the dates 1946,1947,1948,1949 were conferred to officers, who had graduates before the badge was introduced. Badges from 1955 to 56 has the incription CCCP instead of a year. From 1957 - 61 they switched from 21 different badges to one common badge (BY). And I think in 1961 they switched to the blue rhomb badges.

To my observation, highest observed serial numbers, I line - 25.924 II line - 20.618 III line - 26.183

Thanks Chuck, 168.444 it?s the highest number I have observed and it?s the first pinback type I see. Somewhere between 135.164 and 168.444 they must have changed from screwback to pinback suspension. best regards Andreas

Chuck, what is the serial number on the railroad badge with the suspension. Till today, I only saw screwback versions, no pinback versions. regards Andreas

Danny, no the badge is not made out of silver. It is brass plated with silver. When I bought the badge, the avers was nearly silver looking with a few places where you could see the brass. The black oxidation of the avers happend in the last years. The reverse is not so oxidated as it looks on the picture. regards Andreas

I have observed five or six different production variants of the badge. Added are four from the uralski foto-catalog.

A few remarks to this roadbuilder badge. I have read somewhere in the internet, that these badge is heavily faked. You could bought it at nearly every street corner in dozens for 50 USD. They tried to sell this badge as a original NKVD badge. Added is my badge, which I have bought a long time ago for a very very little amount. So I think, the chance that it is a fake is more or less big. Although I hope it is not the case, but as we know the hope dies at last.
