    1. Hi Paul Highest rank would be Leutnant der Reserve with or wihout the Matrosenartillerie addition. His entry at volksbund.de suggest this also: http://www.volksbund.de/graebersuche/conte...D0A6EC9DAD8BB6F Hope you can help me David
    2. Hi Gents I am looking for some more info on the WWII career of my greatgrandfathers cousin Wilhelm Albert Karl August M?ldner, geboren Berlin 07.11.1887, Inhaber des Eisernen Kreuzes II. und I. Klasse (K?nigreich Preussen), Seefliegerabzeichen (K?nigreich Preussen) (24.09.1915), 1917 Leutnant der Reserve der Matrosenartillerie, gestorben Berlin Luftwaffelazarett Halle-D?lau 04.11.1942. Dienstzeit bei der Luftwaffe 30.09.1935-28.10.1935 Fliegerhorstkommandantur Perleberg (?bung), Anfangsdatum nicht vermerkt-04.11.1942 1. Flieger-Waffentechnische Schule I, Halle an der Saale. Got his Wehrpass data today, a remark: 22.06.1942-22.09.1942 1. Flieger-Waffentechnische Schule I, Halle an der Saale, seit 23.09.1942 Flieger Ersatz Bataillon IV. Although the other questions remain, I would like to add: Were was his last unit? Who commanded it? The Wehrpass shows a Hauptmann with a K and a Oberstlieutenant with a B or L. Would there be any kind of documentation on this school and would in this documentation be mentioning of Wilhelm M?ldner? Would his rank still be Lt d R der Matrosenartillerie, or would he just be Lt dR? Hope to get some info here. Normally I am focussing on WWI, as there were some other familymembers in that war. Regards and thanks David
    3. Hi Gents I am looking for a picture of a uniformed Leutnant der Reserve der Matrosenartillerie. I know it is a bit specific but have not been able to find something similar on the internet yet. My greatgrandfathers cousin was a pilot athe SFA in Varna during WWI. His full career (from the WAST) Wilhelm Albert Karl August M?ldner, geboren Berlin 07.11.1887, gestorben Luftwaffelazarett Halle-D?lau 04.11.1942. 24.09.1915 Seefliegerabzeichen, 25.05.1916 Bulgarian Tapferkeitskreuz IV. Klasse (do I read this one right? what does it look like?) 04.06.1916 Eiserne Kreuze II. 02.09.1916 Osmanischer Kriegsmedaillen (would love to see a picture of this one!) 02.09.1916 Bulgarian Militair Verdienst Kreuz (a picture of this one anyone?) 23.07.1917 Eiserne Kreuze I. Klasse, 23.03.1918 Bulgarian Seeflieger Abzeichen (a picture of this one?) 23.03.1918 Osmanischer Halbmond (which I guess is the read star like equivalent of the EKI, right?) 22.08.1914 Diensteintritt im Freiwillige Marine Flieger Korps (Berlin-Johannisthal), II Seeflieger-Abteilung (SFA): 31.07.1915 Obermatrose, dann Bootmannsmaat, 11.1915 Flugmaat, 06.11.1915-03.12.1915 Seeflieger-Station (SFS) Borkum, wo er mit dem Friedrichshafen FF 29a (Seeaufkl?rer) Nummer 419 flog, 23.01.1916-12.10.1916 und 01.05.1917-16.06.1917 I. SFA: SFS Varna (Bulgarien), hier war er Flugzeugf?hrer der Friedrichshafen FF 33e (Seeaufkl?rer), Nummer 507, 529, 530, 723, 738, 780, 835, 861 und 862, 04.07.1916 Vizeflugmeister, 24.05.1917H Leutnant der Reserve der Matrosenartillerie, 15.09.1917-03.1918 II. Adjutant der Stab der I. SFA (Kiel-Holtenau), 30.04.1918 zur Dienstleistung bei der Kommandeur der Flieger des Marine Korps Flandern (KoFl) commandirt (Zeebr?gge, Belgien), 06.05.1918 unter Enthebung von dem Commando zur Dienstleistung bei der KoFl, zur Verf?gung der Marine Flugchef (Berlin) vom 25.08.1918-25.09.1918 Reservelazarett Bad Nauheim (Erkrankung), dann bis Kriegsende zur Verf?gung der Marine Flugchef (Berlin), 21.01.1920 ausser Dienst. So most specifically I am actually looking for just a picture of any of the uniforms Wilhelm would have worn at some point in his career (will also post this on the IIIrd Reich forum for his final years) From his Wehrpass, which I received today, I added some data. I hope you will be so kind to help me out in finding pictures of the ODM's I dont know what they look like. Thanks again David
    4. Thats great dave, thanks. I guess the Isenburg was am bavarian general for the same reason as the several other german princes were prussian generals. And than ofcourse: the prince of all Isenburg lands was a member of the confederation of the Rhine, as was Bavaria. I guess his militairy career started before the confederation was dissolved. BTW I guess von Throtha's KHW1 stands for Grandcross of the kurhessian Wilhelmsorden? regards David
    5. Hi Dave I am specifically looking for Generallieutenant Graf von Isenburg-Philippseich, mentioned as such in 1831. I am looking for firstname, place and date of birth and death and the source of the information. regards David
    6. Hi In my data I have a bavarian Generallieutenant receiving the CHGL1. I am wondering if there is any source like the priesdorf volumes for bavarian generals in the 1st half of the 19th century? Regards David
    7. I think I know someone who might help me out. He has ranklists ranging from 1848-1918, but is is not available at the moment. I will keep you posted on my progress, which will probably be no sooner than end August. regards and many thanks for your help David
    8. That would be an interesting book, what does it mention? All the EK1 and the reasons for award?
    9. Hi Dave because of his other foreign decorations I would say number 1. However 1849 was a turbulent year, so any of the other von Sch?lers could be in a position to earn a CHGL4 by then I guess..... But at least we know there are only 4 von Sch?lers around that time, which is surely helpfull. Would there be an 1850/1860 ish ranklist in your collection as well? Maybe accounts in such a list would be comparable to Priesdorf and maybe the lists does mention all the foreign awards.
    10. Hi Glenn Thanks so much for checking! does it state if one of the 3 served in the Kriegsministerium? The list I have is from 1851 and there it says Major von Schoeler von Kriegsministerium. I don't know if there is specific info like that in Priesdorf on Kriegsministerium service, but that is what I have. So I guess I should be looking for someone with a 1850 ranklist.... regards David
    11. Hi Gents In my data I have a recipient of the Knightscross CHGL 13.02.1849 as : k?niglich preussischen Major von Sch?ler vom Kriegsministerium (no first name given ofcourse, that would be to easy).... I was hoping that it will turn out to be one of the generals mentioned in Priesdorff, because that would make researching his career a lot easier. From the online index of Priesdorff: Schoeler, Alexander Viktor Ernst von Bd. 7,237 2268 Schoeler, August Wilhelm Karl Daniel Alexander von Bd. 6,488 2108 Schoeler, Friedrich August Alexander Felix Julius Andreas Alfred von Bd.10,313 3234 Schoeler, Friedrich Ludwig Robert Johann von Bd. 6,363 1987 Schoeler, Johann Friedrich Wilhelm von Bd. 3,62 976 Schoeler, Ludwig Johann Wilhelm August von Bd. 6,319 1940 Schoeler, Moritz Ludwig Wilhelm von Bd. 4,225 1299 Schoeler, Reinhold Otto Friedrich August von Bd. 4,197 1289 My guess is he is either from Band 7 or 10, judging from the fact he is (only) a major in 1849, but I am not sure and cannot check that. I hope one of you will help me out here. So what I am looking for is at least the date of birth an death of the von Schoeler mentioned in my data. Hope you can help me out here. many thanks!! David
    12. I think by this time, it would be mentioned as the HG1? Because from 1876 onwards, the Grandduke of Hessen and the Rhine awarded the Houseorder as his own. Am I right there? David
    13. Thanks Glenn, that's great. However I do not see his CHHGL1 listed. I did expect him to be the Prinz Georg von Preussen who got it in 1853, as there are no other prussian princes with first name Georg around that time as far as I can see... regards David
    14. Hi I am looking for the career and decorations of: Friedrich Wilhelm Georg Ernst Prinz von Preussen, geboren D?sseldorf 12.02.1826, gestorben Berlin 02.05.1902. Hope you can help me out! regards David
    15. During their stay in exile, the German Crownprince and his aide, M?ldner von M?lnheim, were visited by: Lindeiner genannt von Wildau, Friedrich Wilhelm Franz Max Erdmann Gustav von, b. Glatz 12.12.1880, kgl. preu?. Major und pers?nlicher Adjutant SKH Joachim Prinz von Preu?en d. Frankfurth a.M. 22.5.1963 , m. Den Haag 25.3.1909 Henriette Baronesse van der Goes van Dirxland, b. Utrecht 23.12.1878, d. Oberh?chstadt, Taunus 30.12.1973 d.o. Henri Baron v.d.G. v. D. and Jkvr. Cornelia Junius van Hemert. Don't know how helpfull this is to you, but at least it confirms the deathin 63. Regards David
    16. Hi Gents I would be really interested in a scan of: Orden und Ehrenzeichen (Publication of the BDOS) von Helmuth W. D?pke: Fragen an ein altes Portr?t (Ludewig Johann Freiherr von Schlicher) 1999 Band 2 S. 15. I hope you can help me out, regards David
    17. HI I am looking for the rolls of the spanish order of Carl III. I am researching te date of receipt of the Knightscross of this order to an austrian civil servant by the name of Rudolph Freiherr von Siber. The award took place before 1861. Hope anyone cn help me out here Regards David
    18. Would anyone know about the Nassau Civil Order of Adolph? It lived on in Luxembourg, but I am especially interested in the 1858-1866 periode of its existence. Does this come up in any kind of literature? I contacted the Archives in Wiesbaden today to find out if the rolls are in the Staatshandb?cher of these periodes. Regards David
    19. Hi Glenn Would your 4. GRzF would be the very rare one I have been trying to find so hard in any German library I could think of? Does it contain the NCO career of Louis M?ldner von M?lnheim who entered the 4th Guards in September 1907? Regards David
    20. I have a question about Roderichs father, August. Was he a Major in 1849/1850? Should he have held that rank at these dates, I would be extremely interested in his careerdetails including ODM, because I suspect him of having received CHHGL3 (Knights Cross Churhessian House Order of the Golden Lion) probably mentioned as CHW3 (renamed in the Wilhelmsorden in 1851. Hope one of you can help me out here! Regards David
    21. Thanks gentlemen!! Now I not only know heb is who I thought he was, but also why he received the order, he was aide-de-camp to the Regimental proprietor of the kurhessian 2nd Regiment Husars Bernard II. Erich Freund Herzog von SM&A. David
    22. Hi Gents I have a 1850 sachson Major von Reitzenstein and was wondering if it could be this later general. Any idea on his careerdates or awards? Hope you can help me out once again! David
    23. Thank tou all to bad he is not wearing his foreign decorations, he must have had a few others next to the churhessian. regards David
