    1. Hello This is the King Albert I Veterans' Cross 1909-1934, an unofficial medal for veterans who served primarily in the First World War.
    2. I've already seen some pages of this book, overall it's very good, as for your website, it would be great to include the pontifical medals! I used it many times to identify medals I didn't know about.
    3. Thanks Megan! It really is an unknown area for most, despite having the advantage of many medals available on the market, it is frustrating that there is little information in general about them.
    4. Hello everyone I have recently dedicated the collection exclusively to pontifical medals and have built up a little collection, here I have some benemerenti medals, with a sequence of Popes: Pius IX (1846-1878), Silver Leo XIII (1878-1903), Bronze and Silver Pius X (1903-1914), Silver Benedict XV (1914-1922), Silver and Gold Pius XI (1922-1939), Silver
    5. Hello As previously stated, it is a Brazilian M1908/34 bayonet, this "Z" mark means it was produced in Czechoslovakia
    6. It doesn't look like Bene Merenti, doesn't have the black edgings, it's an entire white cross with an enamel around the central medallion, maybe it's from some veteran organization?
    7. It doesn't appear to be any papal decoration, none of the Vatican's official decorations have this format, they are all breast stars, in addition it appears that he is also wearing the Prince Alfons commemorative badge, correct?
    8. Hello Eason This star has been discussed on other forums for a few years now and has been discussed on this forum too, from what I have seen there have been no major discoveries as to what it is, the central insignia is clearly from the Royal Army Chaplains Department, but appears to be a fantasy piece. Here you will find a little more discussion about these stars.
    9. hello, As said before, it doesn't actually appear to be a medal, there is a model similar to yours for sale on ebay, described as a "medal awarded by Pius IX to the Jesuits", due to the shape of the eyelet that looks like it was worn with a chain. It is difficult to be sure what it is, but it is very likely that it was a gift on the occasion of the Jubilee of 1875 (which occurred in a limited way on the occasion of Italian unification), this type of gifts are very common during jubilees
    10. What a wonderful bar! It's great to know that the medals have been preserved and are on display. Thank you very much for sharing it
    11. Thank you both very much for the information!!! He had a very interesting combination of medals, more than I initially thought, I believe there is no photo of him wearing all his medals, correct?
    12. Hello everyone, I was researching the medals that Father Rupert Mayer won in the WW1, I know that he was awarded three times (1st and 2nd of the Iron Cross ), as he lost his leg in combat, I suspect that the third decoration is the wounded badge, but I didn't find anything about it, also, as he died in 1945, it is likely that he had the Hindenburg Cross, could anyone confirm for me what his medals?
    13. Thanks Graf, this Order of Saint Gregory is wonderful, do you know under which Pope it was awarded? Vatican decorations are an area that few collectors end up focusing on and information is scarce, many of these medals, especially the Benemerenti, are often sold as “devotional medals”.
    14. One more for the collection, another benemerenti from Pope Leo XIII, this time the silver class.
    15. A new medal arrived today, silver Benemerenti medal from Pope Benedictvs XV, marked by S.J. Although a little worn, you can still see the beautiful details of his Papal Stole.
