I wouldn't expect a reply for a while. He's probably a little busy these days. However, taking a guess, given the historically wide distribution of Eastern European medals, and given the effects of a wartime economy, potentially they are made of something less precious like steel.
I have, with all due respect, never encountered such a mess of an honours and awards system as the one that exists in Ukraine. It is going to take years to fix it!
Any more word on who is getting the Medal "For the Defence of Ukraine"?
He will likely get three medals at least. Order of Courage III Class, Medal "For the Defence of Ukraine" and Medal "For Our Freedom and Yours" (the NGO one) alongside his medals from his previous service that you've described to me privately.
I'm curious why some cities have instituted awards and others haven't? I know Kamianets-Podilskyi has two awards but both are for outstanding merit instead of general campaign awards.
What do people think of the odds of NATO and the other allied nations striking a medal for Operation INTERFLEX? Would it be a NATO medal? Or a new medal?
