Bulgarian Queen Eleanora's Cross
new world replied to cwdts's topic in Central & Eastern European States
That ribbon is wrong. I believe it's red red ribbon, I need to find mine to confirm the ribbon. In the meantime - here's the cross on the medal bar. -
Bulgarian Recovering Captured Flags Badge

This is supposedly very rare badge with just few awarded. Most of what you see for sale are fakes. -

The book had this info in Bulgarian, so transcription is not fully accurate. Yugenen Brothers & Co is most likely Huguenin -
yugoslavia Yugoslav Air Force Breitling Navitimer 2100
new world replied to paja's topic in Southern European & Balkan States
here's similar looking Navitimer 2100 watch, for French Air Force, roughly same repiod. Note logo on the dial - this was common practice for Breitling. I am surprised Yugo Air Force logo is not on the dial. -

Bulgaria Cyril and Methodius church awarded order
new world replied to new world's topic in Central & Eastern European States
I'd be curious to know why so, is it because they were awarded by Roman Catholic Church, not by official Orthodox religion? -
Romanian WW2 era banknotes

Interesting banknotes, amazing how they survived turbulent times in Romania -

Bulgaria FAKE BULGARIAN ORDERS ON THE MARKET
new world replied to Graf's topic in Central & Eastern European States
Base looks like plated metal (bronze or copper alloy). Number is there to make it look legitimate, seller said 'the number is there, it must be authentic'. Problem is that number should be on the pin, not on the base. This is actually very convincing fake, even enamel looks real...until you stick a pin into it. Be very careful!!! -

So, keeping in mind this letter, what period crown is this crown on the case? It looks like 2nd crown he's referring to... -
Medal for Merit (BULGARIA)
new world replied to AlexLev's topic in Central & Eastern European States
Alex, These were fairly common medals, often given to privates/NCO/civilians/workers. I'd estimate there were tens of thousands of them awarded. -
Bulgarian Red Cross Medal
new world replied to Frunzich's topic in Central & Eastern European States
Nice discussion of Red Cross badges and medals, however there are still some badges we didn't cover. For example, this and similar badges are sometimes called Air Chemical Defense badge, however I am not sure that's accurate, as it has Red Cross elements to it. Any thoughts? Similar Badge without Air Defense shield. It says 'For Service' Another one without shield, seller calls it badge for pilot-medic... and one more without the shield -

new world replied to new world's topic in Central & Eastern European States
You have a point, although I am not sure photos will give us all his awards, as there were some he never or rarely wore and they were just not captured by photographers. I also saw people making statements that he was awarded German Iron Cross (someone said it was Knights Cross grade). Not sure if this is accurate, I wasn't able to find any reference to KC IC. -

Lovely minis, note how two ribbons are stitched together to wear these as a pair. -
