    1. As far as I'm aware, the Australian who was awarded the "new" VC is not recognised by the British VC association. They still have only 96 Ozzy winners mentioned. The new VC is identical in every respect except for the fact that is now an Australian only affair. The Ozzy VC also supersedes the Imperial VC.
    2. Hello J.B That's fantastic! Thank you very much I will have to go and purchase that book you mentioned. I've found a V.3 "Acts of Gallantry" by Fevyer on Amazon, is that the correct book? Again, thank you!
    3. Hello Gentlemen I've purchased this little mini group comprising of a DSM and LSGC to a certain William Tanner (37037). He was a Chief Engine Room Artificer when he recieved the DSM. I checked with the London Gazette and to my inexperience at research on groups found that it covers only Army Gallantry medals. Is there a similar website for the RN? How would I go about researching this chap? I don't ask for anyone to do all the "leg work" for me, just a little help on where to begin. Thanks
    4. Hello Fellas, These medals are indeed beautiful. Nick, I will take some more pictures for you tommorow. Mossy, Thanks for that, any info would be greatly appreciated. Cheers Bob
    5. Hello Paul. Thanks for the welcome! Hello Rick. Here is his arbituary in the local newspaper June 16th 1939 which proves interesting.
    6. I seem to have posted this in the wrong section. Should be in the Medals of the British empire etc... If someone could move it, it would be apprectiated. My apologies.
    7. Hello Gentleman, Another medal I managed to pick up this week is this beautiful Waterloo medal. This one with the early brass ring. Named to James Town of the 15th King's Hussars (light cavalry I believe). Does anybody have the regimental history of this units action during the battle? I hope this will be a que for other members to post theirs! I think these medals were wonderfully crafted.
    8. No problem Ed! I also like the fact that, similar to the VC, these were made from captured guns Cheers.
    9. The man himself taking a break from ploughing the fields after the campaign It came with his Paybook, full of lovely entries by officers and alike, there can't be many of these around... And on 9th Lancers' regimental paper, a fitting tribute by his Captain when he retired.
    10. Hello Gentleman. Been quite a busy week this week, managed to pick up this lovely little local group to a Pvt George Shore who lived in Market Deeping (right next to me) off his Grandson. He served in the 9th Lancers throughout the campaign then went home, retired, then joined the reserves. I'm not a regular member here so I thought I might aswell introduce myself with a few items.
    11. Hi Rosenberg, This issue of cufftitle was worn by the Fallschirm-Panzer division Hermann Goering, and you are correct is assuming this is a late war piece. An educated guess would be that this was issued in 1944 when the division became a "Korps"
    12. Hello Mark I would love to, as soon as I become a full member I will post it here. I cant really post clear pics under 60k pretty darn annoying.
    13. Hello War Lord, This is a beautiful set, I have seen the picture of that certain Allgemeine member before somewhere... It is a very poignant picture for to me he looks like an Englishman! Fantastic.... Kurt, Love your set, it is equally beautiful. Not a collector of these sorts of badges at all but the pair are different sizes... I would assume for different usage? Is this correct? Thanks you both for sharing
