EK 1914 Another Blued Core EK1 Silber
Motorhead replied to Steve campbell's topic in Germany: All Eras: The Iron Cross
Being back from a collectors meeting yesterday evening(SDA and MFF members)...I had your EK type in hands! Greg-you need a big washer(2 holes) and you are right with the blued core.....they painted the blued core! The EK I had a look on was in nearly perfect condition.....just a little loss on the 3'o clock crossarm.....under the paint it was blued! The hunting season is opened! Micha -

Motorhead replied to Motorhead's topic in Wehrmacht Medals, Decorations & Awards
Here are two pics I've borrowed from the"Militaria-Fundforum.de" A black "KM 800"-I'm sure I couldn't resist.....unfortunately not for sale and not mine! Micha -
EK 1939 Deschler EK1
Motorhead replied to Steve campbell's topic in Germany: All Eras: The Iron Cross
Deschler has used more than one stamp-there are two different L/10 stampings known! It's the same with the "1"-when my time permits I will post a sample of known Deschler stampings on EK1! Micha -
EK 1914 New EK1 Clamshell Screwback
Motorhead replied to Steve campbell's topic in Germany: All Eras: The Iron Cross
That's a convex Deumer clamshell-there are also flat ones(hard to find) and iron core variations...It seems to be Deumer is an own collecting field! Nice clamshell....... Micha -
EK 1914 Another Blued Core EK1 Silber
Motorhead replied to Steve campbell's topic in Germany: All Eras: The Iron Cross
Another one I have to look for! Greg, are you sure that the core is blued? I can't tell from the pics(but you've got it in your hands to judge it better) Micha -
Silver woundbadge 1918-a real gem!
Motorhead replied to Motorhead's topic in Wehrmacht Medals, Decorations & Awards
Gary, I don't plan to go deeper into collecting WBs....The "800" was just much too nice to let it go and the DRGM was less than an EK2 1914! So don't worry,I will stay focused on iron crosses! Micha -
EK 1939 New EK2 Maker Mark 6
Motorhead replied to Steve campbell's topic in Germany: All Eras: The Iron Cross
Bill, I didn't post that EK at that thread-It's obviously a"Floch" so it should have an own one! but here's the link to the "Sammlergemeinschaft deutscher Auszeichnungen"! You have to register, but it's quick and easy done(and of course for free) http://www.sammlergemeinschaft-deutscherau...?threadid=16523 It's not the same like the WAF stats-we started that list because of many questionable makers at other lists! All the listed numbers are confirmed and discussed. There may be other makers(for example my 49 which it is no FLOCH).Unfortunately are the '39 EK collectors spread over a few internet forums....... Micha -
Well.....we all know what he's doing with the stuff he's buying-so why do you sell to him? You can block every single Ebay account from your auctions! Or ist it "pecunia non olet"? Micha The link to the german biddermanagement -I'm sure there's a similar one at Ebay .com http://pages.ebay.de/services/buyandsell/b...management.html

Silver woundbadge 1918-a real gem!
Motorhead replied to Motorhead's topic in Wehrmacht Medals, Decorations & Awards
Well, from what we know now KMST is K?nigliches M?nzamt Stuttgart. The Eks of this maker where never awarded pieces but private purchases. There's another variation out with this kind of safety catch, but in hollow....-maker marked "KM" at the pin.At the weekend some fellow collectors and I meet and I hope I will see the other variation(one was sold at Ebay for big money...) Gary-of course I can't tell absolutely sure that this badge was made by KMST,but it looks like they where the only maker who had used this kind of safety catches during WW1/early 20ies..... Micha -

The year is nearly over...no chance any more to get something for our collections We all have been digging for the little bits and pieces that have brought a smile on our faces. The big things, the little things, the missing piece of information that closes a gap in our knowledge. So what was your personal collecting highlight for 2007? A happy 2008 to all of you and your families-good health and good luck on all of your ways.....I will start with this little medal bar(not only iron crosses can bring a smile on my face ). Micha
