Hello, I finally started to turn up some affordable Luftwaffe awards and cases this year. Most of these were matched up by myself and are not the issue cases. Very interesting. The 650 number is one I've recently stumbled upon , but I cannot claim that it is anything more than one person's opinion. I believe they meant 650 sets , which would account for 1300 of these badges. Do you have a photo or link to one of the engraved badges? Thanks for any help. Best Kurt

I couldn't agree more. Unfortunately , this badge came with no provinence , but it is a textbook example. I think there were only 650 of these presented , if I remember correctly. I have no knowledge of a list of recipients , but one may exist. Best Kurt

If we are talking influence on an entire conflict , then I must agree that the T-34 was the most influential. If not for it and the AK-47 , the USSR would have been doomed. Best kurt

In my opinion , they are beaten , yet we are not done. I don't think this is about finding everyone hiding in the mountains as much as it is about keeping them moving and , of course , finding Bin Laden. This would hardly affect terrorism , but would be a great symbolic victory. I don't believe the USSR had the cooperation of the government , as we do. This new government is still fledgling and hence our need to stay for who knows how long. Once they are more established , the remnants of the old regime will become more and more insignificant.
