    3. This is the M-42, after about five hours of paint stripping. Not a speck of yellow left. Except for some spots of rust, all of the original paint is intact. This helmet have never had a decal. I am really pleased with the result. I hope you like it.

    8. Hello I bought two shoulder boards today, for next to nothing. This is one of them that I think might be imperial german. I know that it is missing both pips, but it was very cheap. I would like to know what kind of board it is. Any help is appreciated. All the best Snoopy

    10. I have been wondering, if I wipe only the inside of the shell, whouldn't that make a noticable difference to the finish of the helmet? Just wondering. All the best Snoopy

Hi Lorenzo That's a good looking tank. Please, post some more pictures, when you have painted it. All the best Snoopy
    12. I think that it's a great looking uniform. I like that it's a bit worn. All the best Snoopy
    13. I agree with your thought's about this helmet, and I think it's a very nice helmet. Interestingly, I believe that I can see the shadow, of another eagle, underneath the one you found under the fake eagle. When the helmet got it's reissue paint coat, they applied another eagle, on top of the previous one. I have seen this done to other original reissue helmets. Hold on to it. All the best Snoopy
    14. I actually believe that I can see traces of the original decals underneath the wing of the fake eagle, allso over the top edge of the fake national emblem. The paint looks good. I am not shure, but to me, it looks like the decals might have been painted over. If it was my helmet, I would have carefully tried to remove the fake decals. Snoopy
    15. Hello Simon I am sorry if my english is not very good. I did not mean, that they sent the china back to Germany. I meant, that when the germans came to Norway, they might have bought an allready existing stock of china, and that the eagles was then applied at the factory. Somewhere I have a prewar, norwegian army plate. I seem to remember that the emblem on this one, was allso applied over the glacing. I can't remember where I put it. If this is the case, It might just be the way the Porsgrunn factory, produced their china. All the best Snoopy
    16. Hello Brian Thank you very much. In the past, I have passed on a lot of german helmets, that have been repainted. Now I wonder, what was hiding beneath the paint on those helmets. It's a lot of work, but I think it's worth it. My helmet has been a difficult one, because I am trying to preserve as much as possible of the camouflage. The camouflage is painted with something that resembles white wash, winther paint, so I have to be extra careful, not to remove this paint layer. It won't probably be perfect, but I like it. I allso like to think, that I am bringing the helmet closer to it's original condition. All the best Snoopy
    17. Thank you very much, for the kind words. I really appreciate it. All the best Snoopy
