Recently got this photo of Adolf with his ever-present cigar, and his Mickey Mouse plane logo in the background. I love his hat; it's almost as cartoonish as the mouse. --Kevin
Nice late-war example, with the plastic frame. I like the manual, too. Someday I'll have to hook up with one. Here's an early (Oct. '38) Dreieckrechener with the gray-painted aluminum frame. --Kevin
Thank you, John. I had searched there under "honor plaque," but not every item has English keywords. Looks like there were different makers of these. I wonder if mine has lost its bronzing, or was simply not done that way. There is no hint that it was ever bronzed. --Kevin
"Honor Plaque for Outstanding Technical Achievements in the Southeast Command of the Luftwaffe" Thanks to Stijn David, I was able to identify this plaque and subsequently purchase it. Non-portable award in the shape of a shield. Greece and the Balkans are in the background. Heavy, non-magnetic metal construction. Very attractive piece, IMO. If anybody has seen a case for this award, please post it! Regards, Kevin
One thing you will never see on original metal breast eagles (and pith helmet eagles, as well, I believe) is the swastika attached to the body of the eagle by only the leg. This is much too fragile, and prone to bending or breaking off. --Kevin
