    1. Wait, which $500,000+ set? The one on collectrussia (that one's only 498k though )? I think that is still for sale though. Or is it some other amazing set I haven't seen? BTW, I just checked Craig Gottlieb's site, where I was shocked to find a number of amazing groups and medals. Unfortunately, most are on hold, and so no prices are listed. Does anyone know what these were selling for?
    2. I think these count. From Poland: Medal for Safeguarding Public Order 1st, 2nd, and 3rd class. Note - image from Kris' Polish medal website.
    3. Actually, his real website is this: http://www.polishmilitaria.com/ I think he sells the stuff on ebay just as another way of advertising. He does have quite a lot of high-end medals. -Alex
    4. Wow! What great pictures! Any idea who the guy with the Suvorov and Red Star is?
    5. Just a thought, perhaps taking an actual picture might be better than just a scan. You might get more detail that way, especially of the enamel. -Alex
    6. Perhaps, Kris, you can send better pictures of the order plus some measurements (weight, dimensions, etc.) to Prof. Wesolowski and see if he can give you an opinion. Or maybe you can even send him the actual medal. I don't know if he does authentifications like many of the soviet dealers, but I am sure he would be willing to help. -Alex
    7. Both a Suvorov and Kutuzov second class were just added overnight. That's another $80,000 right there! :speechless1:
    8. http://collectrussia.com/showcat.htm?cat=ww2topmil That's 3/4 of a million dollars right there! There are a few things I noticed about all of this great stuff. First, is it just me, or have the orders of Suvorov and Kutuzov been for sale several times already? For whatever reason, I feel like the same ones keep reappearing in the same place, each time twice as expensive as before. I remember seeing these for a mere ( ) $8000 a year ago when I started collecting. Second, in the Vasyagin group, how is it that so much is missing? I mean, there's an October Revolution, ORBL, Mongolian ORB, and lots of other foreign and soviet medals that aren't there. Where could they have gone and how?!? Any thoughts? -Alex
    9. That's right Dan! Wow, that question lasted all of a half hour Congrats! Your turn now! -Alex
    10. I posted the wrong picture! That was dumb! I agree, with swords is better! -Alex
    11. Alright then. I hope this one isn't too broad a question. I bet there are actually a lot of answers I don't know about, but there is one in particular I am looking for. So here it is: What was one tradition in the Red Army when a soldier received an award? (Hint: it involves vodka, not surprisingly) Good luck! -Alex
    12. The document. The eagle stamp is next to the signature on the bottom, but it did not come out in the scan.
    13. An even closer view. I think the ring has a makers mark of some sort.
    14. Hi All! This just arrived from Poland, a documented and cased Order Polonia Restituta 4th Class. I think it it is real, but if anyone has any suspicion that it might be fake, please post right away! I don't have very long before my return time runs out. Thanks! -Alex
    15. Agreed. As a general suggestion, could the title of this forum perhaps be broadened to "Documented and/or Researched Awards and Groups?"
    16. I got news back from the researcher that this group is "fake." Apparently, no information could be found when it was searched by name. What does this mean? Shouldn't there be something in the archives about Trofimov? Perhaps there was an issue with the correct spelling of his name? The Red Star belonged to Fedorov (http://gmic.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=28519), and I don't know about the OGPW 2. Thanks! -Alex
