    1. Hi All! This was the first group in my collection. I posted it a while ago, but when I looked back at the old thread, I found I had left some stuff out. I decided to completely re-post with everything I had forgotten before, plus some recent research results. The group includes: (Order of Lenin #292,792 - missing) ORS# 1,820,314 ORS# 3,130,670 OGPW 2 1985 Combat Merit Medal Medal for Victoy over Japan Medal for the 30th Anniversary of the Red Army Medal for 40 years of victory Order booklets Ministry of Defense ID Navigator's ID 1st Class -Alex
    2. If I'm not mistaken, the group is missing his Red Star, plus all of his campaign medals. Maybe that's why it's 498k and not 500k
    3. That's exactly what I said. I posted this link earlier on the other sub-forum.
    4. Hi All! I think that given the amount of interest in communist Bulgarian medals, we should create a new sub-forum. What do you think? Is it possible? -Alex
    5. Russian alphabet soup must be rather messy, having all those other letters.
    6. That is pretty funny! Actually, I do have a question about this. What did the Red Army have in terms of bands or other such musical groups during WWII? Has anyone ever seen an award to a musician? I have found one (a campaign medal that I didn't buy) but that is it. -Alex

    8. I gave it one last shot, and this is as good as it gets, for real. Sorry It looks like a "capture of berlin" medal to me.
    9. I think you're right Rick! I got some other opinions and they seem to agree with this as well. So this medal probably is for something real and not long service then, correct? If that's the case, I'll send it to Nota Bene for the citation. -Alex
    10. I tried increasing the contrast. This is about as good as it will get. I hope it helps. Unfortunately, the original scans weren't great. I will probably send this off to Nota Bene to get the citation. -Alex
    11. No, no. I know the other medals don't match. That was just the only picture of the back of the Red Star I had, so that's what I used. Sorry for the confusion. So now two people think it's an "8" and not a "1." This isn't good. Are there any other opinions about this number? Somehow I sense that this entire research thing is going to be a disaster. I ordered research for the wrong red banner, got results for the an order of the red star that did not belong to the Trofimov group (but was included with it at purchase) when I asked for his award card, and still have not got anything for the Didusenko group even though results for it have arrived. Now this may be the award card for the wrong medal -Alex
    12. Here is a close up of the number from the scan. It's hard to tell. I hope you are wrong, because if not, then I got the wrong research.
    13. No, this is all I have. When I first posted this medal without research, you said that it was likely a long service award. Do you think it was for something else, with this research? If it isn't long service, then I'll send a request for the citation. I just noticed, he had sequentially numbered red stars. I wish I had the other one. -Alex
    14. This is the research for ORB #109,668, the one I thought was mine until I looked at the scan of the medal more closely. Oh well. I can't really understand any of the documents, but my guess is that it's a long service award. I was at least hoping to get an interesting citation. Please correct me if I am wrong about the long service part. Thanks!
    15. This ORS was included in the Trofimov group, but it turns out it doesn't belong (not surprisingly). I didn't actually ask for research on this one, so there must have been a miscommunication. I'm glad that happened anyway, otherwise I wouldn't have results!
